Tracker updated! Seems like lots more offers this year 🙁

Darn that is unfortunate for us waitlisted. It would be insane if hundreds of students that have been admitted decline their offer at CU.

They usually have about 200 people on their alternate list based on past threads so maybe the total is the 184+the alternate spots? That would be nice if it were true. Feeling a tad delusional but I’m gonna let myself believe it’s true.

Going to try to swallow my feelings at this point and move forward. Was super hopeful that we were going to get that call but yikes 372 offers of admissions seems to be historically high compared to previous years. Fingers crossed guys

Unfortunate news, as this is the highest chance I have for my only A this cycle. Starting to pray like I never have before.

However I like to keep in mind that schools have to underadmit for their incoming class, because the alternative is overadmitting. So some waitlist movement will occur.

I want to point out that something here isn’t quite right. The page is switching between the Jan/May data for me; only the offers given/date change. 372/484 would be a ~77% post II acceptance rate, which would be higher than their past average by ~20%. Colorado also rejects some people post interview and specific examples of this exist on admit.org for this cycle. Let’s give it a day or two here and I’m sure we’ll see some numbers change around, regardless if they’ve actually given 372 offers or not.

I really have to believe that it includes the alternates. If they truly offered 372 actual acceptances for 184 spots that means that they offered over twice the available spots in acceptances. I feel like they wouldn’t do that unless they were expanding the program and I haven’t heard anything about that I don’t know about you guys.

Omg bless you for noticing this

I hear ya and this would be amazing, however, do you really think that they would count people on the alternative list as "offers of admission" if they haven't formally given us a call or letter of acceptance? I really hope you're right!

A few weeks back, I got an email from CU saying that I had a financial aid offer, which in that email, stated that they are only awarded to accepted applicants. I had (and have still not) received an acceptance from them, so I called both admissions and financial aid, and neither of them had any idea what happened, essentially telling me to ignore it unless I got an acceptance. All that to say, this could be just another weird error on their end, or as some of you are suggesting, they are counting alt list applicants as acceptances? I'm leaning towards error, but regardless, I'm on my hands and knees PRAYING for that phone call bro :bigtears:

Every bone in my body is praying that’s what happened. I can’t imagine them doing >200% offers of actual admission.

Someone did mention that they usually call between 3-5pm MT. An admittedly optimistic thought could be that they have some waitlisted people teed up to call in that timeframe for this afternoon/Friday and included them in the count.

I didn’t see anyone mention it yet, but I saw from past years’ threads that they typically called on Fridays for those waitlisted.

Big fan of this theory.

That’s interesting. The stat could be a mistake. They told us at admit day that they accepted 300 students for a class of 180ish and so because of that, we “couldn’t all go here.” It might make sense why the admit day was not good from my POV 😂

Wait does that mean that they send an offer and then take it back because the class is full?

For what it’s worth, I don’t think that the cycle tracker is accurate. There’s no way that they have that high of a post-II A rate. There’s also just no way they accepted >200 students than their class size.

Agreed, doesn't seem consistent with admissions on admit.org, reddit, and here either.

Offers no longer on tracker lol

The jump in interviews was +185, even if every single person in that 185 got accepted and the number from before (179 acceptances) was accurate, 179+185=364, there’s no way the 372 was accurate. Feeling slightly nerdy, a bit obsessed, and relieved.

Welp, 372/669 is about a 56% post-II acceptance rate—I think that’s probably accurate. They must’ve had a lot of calls regarding the offer number for them to just straight up take it down.

Don’t give up all hope yet, though. Funding has been cut in many areas for the university and that could certainly extend to finaid for accepted students. This school is crazy expensive for OOS’ers, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the higher offer count that was previously displayed is a result of more people choosing to go elsewhere due to lower aid offers and a resulting higher cost.

Also, there was an acceptance reported on admit.org on the 29th, which I’m assuming is a WL pull. It may already be moving, just very slowly.

I am an OOO atttendee and this year it was cheapest option for school. Didn’t get any special scholarship either.

That’s honestly very surprising to hear. I’m admitted elsewhere and out of state tuition for that school is actually cheaper than in-state for CU before any aid.

Yea but admitting 372 is insane. I'm still banking that people on the alternate list count toward that number like others were saying but I might just be too optimistic for my own good. Manifesting my very hardest for that call today.
It’s really hard to know right now and that sucks. It’s honestly quite upsetting that they just took down the offers given stat instead of addressing it when they clearly messed up.

Hoping the best for all of us—keep those ringers on!

Are we cooked, chat? Don't most schools have the most movement during the first two weeks of May? Seems like CU hasn't had any. Starting to think that the 372 admitted was right 😭
I would have thought they’d have started calling people by now. I’m sure they’ve done some waitlist acceptances but it hasn’t shown up on Sdn.

I don't think we are. I am on a waitlist for other schools which have not had any movement yet either. Their adcoms have students who inquired, and they said that it will start moving next week. Also if the CU adcom did indeed think that the waitlist was not going to move, it would inform people on the lower third that there is no chance for them getting off. I bet the adcom just needs some more time. However the lack of communication is not fun.
