Hey! I wanted to ask if you anyone knew if the committee was still interviewing? I had called to ask but they said my they are still processing applications and to send interest letters, but I am not sure if it’s appropriate to do that if they are done sending interviews. Plus, I have not seen any new interviews invites on here or admit.org 😭

“The Committee on Admissions regrets to inform you that we will not be able to act favorably on your application for admission to our next entering class.

This letter most emphatically does not mean that the Committee regards you as unsuited to the practice of medicine or even that it feels you could not meet the demands of our curriculum. It is the result primarily of having thousands of well-qualified applicants and having limited places in our next entering class.

We wish you well in your future medical career.”

Congrats! See you in April
Hi happy apple, I got an MSTP WL today, and I have a couple questions. I’ve seen on reddit that columbia sends ~40 offers out to the 90 ish interviewees. Did all of those offers go out today, or does that number include people who end up getting in off the waitlist? Also, if you know, how much MSTP waitlist movement is there usually?

I have been told that (usually) around 40 offers are sent out initially with a target class size of 14-15.

However, I have heard that this year (unconfirmed officially), around 30 offers were sent out to reduce the chance that the class size gets too big (since NYU isn't taking anyone this year) with the intention of sending "more" offers to the waitlist to fill the class than usual, if needed.

I've got no idea what the waitlist movement will look like this year (with NYU/NIH funding shenanigans factoring in). Last year, there were no admits off the WL.

MSAR is historically off on this stuff, Yale says Mar 3 as well but released their decisions last week
^this is exactly why I think we're going to get decisions this week. Yale released a week earlier than MSAR AND previous years' trends'. Columbia could be any day now (which is scaryyyyy)

Oh that’s so scary I didn’t know that schools sent them before the earliest date 😅 probably Friday then? Last two years have been Feb 28–Mar 1.
