If you are applying to the Abigail Geisinger Scholars Program, please share with the Admissions Committee what primary care and/or psychiatry means to you, and why you believe you are a good fit for the Abigail Geisinger Scholars Program. (Still answer questions 2-4 below though. Only question 1 is substituted by this prompt)

If not:

1. Given Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine’s unique mission and values, please tell us why you believe you are a good fit for our institution.

2. List the five most important attributes you believe a physician should possess. Please choose one that you believe you embody and describe a personal experience that demonstrates this trait?

3. Geisinger Commonwealth values diversity, health equity, inclusion, and social justice. Tell us how you will share in this mission.

4. If you have previously applied to medical school, please describe your significant experiences between this year’s application and your previous application. If you are not a previous applicant, please type, “N/A” in the response area.
 
For the first question, should we mainly focus on the mission at Geisinger or should we identify any specific intiatives/programs to indicate why we would be a good fit or is it a mix of both?
 
Is anyone else having an issue accessing the portal?

What’s the character or word count for the prompts? I’m also having issues accessing the portal right now. Keep getting an error page ugh
 
Are people approaching #3 as a psuedo diversity question?

From GCSOM Website:
  • All applicants are required to submit one pre-professional/pre-health/committee letter or three evaluation/recommendation letters from faculty who are familiar with the applicant’s career goals and academic coursework.
  • The admissions committee will consider additional letters that highlight and support facets of an applicant’s application portfolio not previously addressed, and are submitted via the AMCAS Letter Service. Students may submit a maximum of four letters.
Do the three "faculty" have to be professors? If so, do all three need to be science professors? MSAR says so, but the Geisinger website is more vague.

I would trust the website over MSAR info. I think that "faculty" could be professors or a research supervisor. I personally did 2 science and 1 non-science professor.

I still have to submit my secondary💀. Am I too late for this school?

They are basically asking what is your MCAT / GPA combo when they say LizzyM
