Waitlist started now, so I assume they will start taking people off after the April 30th deadline that AAMC set to narrow your choice to 1 school.

Anyone know what the waitlist movement is like for Geisinger? They take 40-45 students for the Abigail Scholars program right?

Apparently deferred is better. I thought I was waitlisted the whole time I was deferred, so this change puts me where I thought I was all along 🤷

I spoke too soon, I emailed to ask about what’s going on with deferrals and I got the WL email shortly after. Rip

I'm a little concerned that they may have lost track of some applications when generating their waitlist since evm1717's update indicates that today's waitlist notifications might have been triggered by that email. I'm hoping that there was just an issue with the notification but I'm worried we've just been thrown onto the bottom of the list as an afterthought. I guess nothing to be done about that now but it is disappointing.

honestly it was super sus that evm emailed at ~2pm and ONLY THEN received a wl couple hours later. very very sus
Yeah, I emailed too and then got the waitlist email. Not sure if that's true for others who were waitlisted today. I am wondering if we are ranked where we are "supposed to" be on the waitlist based on whatever criteria they use to make the list or if we were just stuck onto the bottom. Were our files actually reviewed by the adcom?
We'll probably never know given that they don't disclose rankings but it definitely feels sus and reflects poorly on the school.

yeah, out of all the schools i’ve interviewed at this season, i felt like geisinger had the most non-transparent screening process (keeping applicants waiting for months and months with literally no updates or timeline at all) & i thought their interviews sessions were organized a bit poorer than others i attended. but oh well 🤷🏻♀️. i wish everyone on the wl luck!

Yeah I’ve already moved on. Kinda ridiculous that they have such a large waitlist when they only let 30 people off each year

Anyone know about the car situation? I understand a car is probably super important during clinical years, but how important is it for pre clinical? Can you get around Scranton without one? Does everyone have a car? Thanks!
