OOS deferred why don’t they just reject. Their site states interviews conclude in feb.
Yep, also j checked the site and realized this. This is probably a soft-R rip. Don’t get why they can’t just be straight with us and tell us it’s an R ugh.

IS Post II Deferred. Interviewed late November. Sent an underwhelming update in January, but I knew it would be the extent of my updates this cycle. For anyone considering it, they remind you of their 2 update limit when you do so.

+1 IS deferred (interviewed early December). Are deferrals the same as waitlists here?
its just the way it goes, can't be helped ig

Are the two not synonymous already?
Yeah they’re basically the same. Was holding out a hope that being deferred might be better than waitlisted but most seem to end up waitlisted anyways. Apparently this geisinger has a 300 spot waitlist as well and only accept 30 off of it.

Any September 16th interviewees get a decision yet? I got a post-II deferral in November and no decision since. Waiting on the edge of my seat

OOS pre-II deferral notice today. I'm assuming it's an interview hold.

For those who are curious, this is the exact wording: "The Admissions Committee has reviewed your materials and elected to defer an interview decision until a later date."

Same. I'm assuming this is essentially an R at this point being so late in the cycle lol

OOS A today + invite to interview with the Abigail Geisinger scholars program! I wish there were more information on how competitive those interviews will be and what to expect but happy to get my hands on any acceptance after interviewing in november and being deferred in january
Current M1 in the Abigail Geisinger Scholars program. The competitiveness is based on if there are enough people interested. For my class, they had extra spots left so competitiveness was low. In fact, they were still trying to recuit for my class into this semester.

What’s the interview style?

super helpful!! thanks so much for the information 🙂

How much do update letters/LOI's really help for Geisinger? How much is the interview performance weighed in decisions? Anyone have any insight on this?

Is it safe to say that no interview invite at this point means it's over? My app was put on hold in like January and I applied to Abigail Scholars program but haven't heard back... would an update letter be pointless without an interview?

Most likely done with interviews. Even their website says interviews conclude in February.

How long does it take to hear back post-interview? I had mine in early Feb, and can't remember what they said

OOS Pre-II R off the interview hold sent earlier last month. They wrote that the interview season is officially over, so expect Rs for anyone who did not get an interview or is on II-hold.

i figured decisions would be out next week based on last months decisions
I forget the exact timing, but I remembered that when I was in my interview, I wrote down the dates in my calendar with their "x-y weeks you'll hear back" and yeah it equated to either next wednesday ish or the 9th ish. I really hope its the former because its been a WHILE

i figure with the CYMS tool being up and running and most having a “plan to enroll” by 4/30 it should be coming up sooner rather than later but then again these are ADCOMS we’re talking about

Once you are deferred do they keep sending you the deferral email every time they release decisions?
