Did anyone interview at Drexel and submit a letter of interest/intent before getting their decision? I had a late March interview so it will probably be May before I get my decision, and I wanted to know whether a letter would help. Thanks!!

I sent a letter of intent and update letter a week after my early Feb interview and got the A early April

how is everyone finding roommates? I'm a female and would like to live near university/center city, so def hmu if you're also looking!

I was deferred recently and am thinking about sending in a letter of intent. Would it be better to send it in now or wait until the official WL decision?

I actually sent two separate in the portal, one letter of intent and another update letter
Thank you! In the portal for me, it only allows me to submit the following files: CV/Resume, Transcript, or Update Letter. Did you attach your letter of intent as an Update Letter in the portal or am I missing something?

Has anyone here got off the deferral list? Seems like a lot of people are on it
Several have, if you scroll up. Deferral means they "aren't ready to make a decision yet" and isn't a waitlist. I think a lot of deferred and waitlisted folks will get accepted in May.

Thank you! I’m deferred at two schools right now so I’m desperate for some more movement soon

I want to upload a pub update letter, but I’ve already reached the max upload limit. I submitted two real update letters a while ago and two interviewer thank you letters.

For those of you who also hit the update letters upload max, can we email adcoms our update letters?

i was deferred in jan after interviewing in oct and i haven't heard anything since. are any other fall interviewees in the same boat or have heard back from their deferrals? this is the only school i got an interview at, so i'm just trying to plan out my next steps. thanks!

Same here. Interviewed in October and deferred in December. Nothing since.

I feel like these questions get asked every few days haha. Yes the deferral list is a soft WL here. There have been ~3-5 that got off the deferral list a few months ago but zero movement since then. It is highly likely that there will be no more movement until we are all officially put on the WL in May.

it's rough out here did u happen to try calling their admissions office? i've been trying but everytime im sent to voicemail which is weird bc when i called in jan they picked up pretty fast

I haven’t called or emailed, stayed realistic that it’s a soft WL and May/June is our time.

I would love to come back to this message in a couple of months after hopefully getting accepted and smile

historically, have people who interviewed late in the cycle (like mid-late march) been mostly just deferred/WL or have there been acceptances? just thinking that because we interviewed so late in the cycle that we might just get auto-deferred/WL

It scares me that so many people get deferred. Looks like they waitlisted around 300 people according to MSAR:

about 1/4 of the WL gets accepted, I would say that's good news compared to other med schools. I was deferred back in early Jan, just try your best to stay optimistic while adding new activities that will enhance your story on why you wanna get into med school!

Is it bad to send more than 1 update letter? I interviewed in Nov and was deferred early jan...i sent an update soon after getting deferred and have had radio silence since. im kinda getting antsy and want to send another update / continued interest/LOI but i dont know if thats worth it bc technically their website says 3 updates are allowed but 1 update letter. the waiting is killing me...anyone else the same?

If your update letter wasn’t a letter of interest or letter of intent (I guess update letters typically reaffirm interest but that’s not the primary purpose of the letter) I would definitely send one! You could do a letter of interest now then send a letter of intent if you get placed on the official waitlist, or go all in and send a letter of intent now. The only thing about that is that a letter of intent is sort of the last card you can play, but it’s up to you!
