It’s crazy disrespectful, and the fact that this happens every cycle and they don’t try to fix the issues like why 😭😭

Are there any M2s/M3s/M4s who are willing to share their experience with rotations at Drexel? Also since Drexel doesn’t have any home residency programs, do you all feel like you have a disadvantage or have you been pretty happy with the opportunities to work/rotate at other affiliated sites? I am currently trying to narrow down my medical school choice, so I would really appreciate some insight!

About to be an M4 in a week, happy to answer any questions you may have here or in DMs. Drexel does have home residency programs, but not a home hospital. We have a lot of affiliations with multiple hospitals across the country (mainly in PA and DE, some in CA, NC, NJ) that would be considered a home residency program that has preference. A lot of things aren't perfect with moving and having different sites, but there's no real compromise to your education and there aren't any real disadvantages that being a school that sends students away from the medical school location brings.

I can only speak to what I've experienced with getting away rotations for fourth year and what I've seen people match into in the graduating class this year, but generally Drexel students don't find any trouble matching to programs they're interested in going to as long as you do your part in getting good scores/putting together a good CV. Drexel is still a solid MD school with a long history that lends itself to a reputation, so it opens a lot more doors than you'd think despite looking at the "ranking". People match into top tier academic institutions while also being okay with matching into community small profile institutions because Drexel attracts students who have a wide, incredibly diverse variety of goals for their career.

deferred in early jan after nov interview...anyone have ANY idea the timeline for deferral decisions? also is anyone else in this position with no MD acceptances yet i am starting to spiral
Also deferred here, waitlisted at another school, and no acceptances. I sent them an email today to see if I could get an update on when my application would be looked at again. If anyone else has any insight, please share!! Unfortunately getting my application ready again in the event I don’t get off either waitlist and definitely feel like I’m spiraling as well😭

Thank you so much for this insight! This is so helpful!

Kind of a random question, but for students or anyone who has gone/ is going to one of the campus visits, what’s the best way to get from Philly to West Reading?

+1 interviewed December, deferred in February. Is there any chance we hear back about deferrals before June?
