Does anyone know when is a good time to send a letter of interest? I was waitlisted last week, would it be too early to send one now...? also considering I do not have any updates to include. Wondering if it's more beneficial to send it closer to Jan/Feb?
Georgetown has this statement in their portal: "When issuing acceptance offers from the wait list, priority is given to applicants who have submitted a letter of interest."I can’t imagine that a letter of interest would accomplish anything post-waitlist. If anything, send a letter of intent, and send it sometime after January.
Let me preface this by saying that I am certainly not an expert. However, in my opinion, it makes more sense to submit it at the end of January.Georgetown has this statement in their portal: "When issuing acceptance offers from the wait list, priority is given to applicants who have submitted a letter of interest."
Does this change anything, or do you still recommend after January?
This makes sense, thank you! Also congrats on your A's 🙂Let me preface this by saying that I am certainly not an expert. However, in my opinion, it makes more sense to submit it at the end of January.
We're in the middle of the cycle right now, and Georgetown knows that you could receive several more II between now and when they start their waitlist movement (March). I believe it will have more of an impact if you submit it at the end of January rather than earlier, as you'll have finished or nearly finished all your interviews, and despite those other interviews still have Georgetown as your first choice!
I'm rooting for you queenIS pre-II R complete 8/26
good luck to everyone else this cycle!!🫶✨
I would send it , its been 3 months, it might sway themi was complete 7/17 and havent gotten the axe. i wonder if an update letter would make a difference

8/08OOS Pre-II R complete 8/15
Its very subjective b/c i submitted in September and got the interview. If you havent heard back and they had big R waves I think that is a good sign, they are still deciding what to do. If I were you I would send the update, its been about 3 months. If you submitted 7/20 and have not heard back yet does that mean they are considering you for an interview/ should I send an update letter or does that mean they are putting you on hold/ rejecting
Most acceptances were only the earliest interview dates, but some waitlists were reported from early September dates! For what interview dates?

Did u send an update letter?OOS II this am, submitted 6/29
i literally sent one like 530am this morning, and got the interview email at 9am, so I don't think it made the difference lolDid u send an update letter?
I interviewed 8/22 and am still waiting in agony 😭When is Georgetown starting to give out post interview decisions 😭
when I send an update should it be school specific, like talking about how these activities would prepare me for georgetown in specific, or is it fine for it to be just a basic update? Its very subjective b/c i submitted in September and got the interview. Updates should be relatively brief. Just describe the activity, how long you've been doing it and for how many hours. If you say anything reflective about it, just keep it short and sweet, nothing specialwhen I send an update should it be school specific, like talking about how these activities would prepare me for georgetown in specific, or is it fine for it to be just a basic update?
However long it takes to said what needs to be said. But definitely nothing more than a pageIs 'brief' a page? or half a page?
