+1 but on my portal, question 5 is 250 words!

+1 OOS
This question is on there as well: "Are there significant gaps in time that are unaccounted for in your application? If yes, please explain"
Does anyone know if this refers to a gap year after college?

I think it refers to taking time off during college (like taking a semester off or something like that)

i prewrote using the old word limits. should i add to them? they were each exactly 150 and 200.

+1 OOS. Additionally, there is an extra prompt for MD/PhD.

Please tell us why you have chosen to apply to the MD-PhD Program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. (250 words)

does anyone know if adcoms will look at my old flexmed app when considering my current amcas app to mount sinai for this cycle? just wondering bc i have some similar ish responses for the prompts so if they will be rereading my old flexmed app i dont wanna be too repetitive and repeat stuff that i previously wrote a few years ago

Maybe you can write about newer experiences if you think they would make better essays. I applied to Northwestern's early program (as a junior in college) but I virtually changed all my essays last cycle given my involvement in new activities bc I thought it would be more impactful to write about those. I also emailed the office, and they said I wouldn't count as a reapplicant so maybe the same applies here!

yall think its okay to write about a highschool experience for toughest feedback ever received?

Likely not unless it was utterly life-changing or as part of an activity that you are still involved in. Regardless, it's better to have more recent experiences because they will be more relevant to who you are today (not sure how long ago high school was for you 🙂)

@evco140 where does this question fall in order on their list for this year?

Anyone else have comments or additions to the 2024-2025 prompts?

For MD/PhD is there another space to list PIs whose research we're interested in or should this be included in the answer to the question above?

I don't see the COVID prompt on my portal. Do you guys have it?

question #2...
Yeah I don't see it. Can someone confirm? Maybe I'm missing something

Update: there was a Yes or a No in response to "Were there any adverse circumstances in your premedical preparatory journey including but not limited to impact from COVID-19?" Clicking 'Yes' gave me a text box where I could explain further. Sorry for the confusion guys!

For the community question, could we talk about a hobby/extracurricular? It didn't directly affect my desire to pursue medicine, since it was a creative pursuit, but I can connect it to how I can use those skills for medicine.

Are you guys weaving in a why us anywhere in here or just talking about the prompt explicitly? Having a hard time telling since there's no space for additional information or anything

This is what I did! I explained how this community I formed would make me a better physician

oh okay thank you! I decided to talk about my minor instead since most of my tangible work for my hobby was done from elementary to high school and I was worried it was too old haha

Same problem here. Hardly any room to answer the question. Should I even bother tying in one sentence why us?

To my understanding, prompt #5 has a word count of 250 words, not 200.

You submitted your primary AMCAS July 7th? If so, probably going to be like 4ish weeks until you're processed/verified.
No, I was transmitted on July 3rd and added this school on July 7th.

Anyone encountering website issues where the Mt. Sinai main website keeps crashing? I can't even search up stuff...

+1 IS received

looks like another batch went out today (verified 7/9)

As a reapplicant and a previous FlexMed applicant, does anyone know what kind of elaboration they're looking for? Not sure if I should elaborate on what I've worked on or if they just want me to go into more detail about what programs I applied too etc?
