Does anyone know the likelihood of getting off the acceptance pending an open seat list? I have a deposit due for another school and would prefer to not pay it.

I don't know if anyone has an exact likelihood, but scanning last year's forum, all of the posts of acceptances between late May and July were from individuals on the regular alternate list. This would lead me to believe everyone on the A pending a seat list was offered. I'm only on the alternate list and ended up having to put a deposit down for a different school. I wish you luck!

on my interview day they said that last year everyone that was accepted pending open seat was eventually offered admission!

I emailed admissions yesterday and they said that haven’t send any movement on the aps list but expect more this month.

Might just give up on this school at this point. It’s mid June and they haven’t even touched the regular alternate list yet. Not sure why it is so SLOW this year.

I totally feel that. I’ve been on the aps list since January. It’s honestly absurd how slow things are moving this year.

Comparing to other cycles, usually by now they have sent another email to WL confirming our interest for staying on the WL. The fact they haven't done it yet when the school starts in a few weeks makes me believe that they overbooked their WL or they have not been seeing any movement at all (or both).

They have acknowledged that this year has been slower than usual. I don’t believe they have even got to the alternate list yet, so I don’t necessarily think they overbooked it but they are probably content with where the number is currently. I do think they gave out an unusual amount of APS spots this year for whatever reason.

The wl is ranked and it’s not moving. Most have started preparing for the new cycle. Took my A from another school.
