I received an interview invite from them last July...pretty much can hear from them up until first day of classes/orientation
What are your stats if you don’t mind me asking? I applied pretty late here but not sure if I have a good chance at getting a late ii with my stats and ECs. 3.5, 506 here.

Not the OP of the post you're replying to so I apologize for interjecting myself but I had near identical stats as you, though I can't speak to our respective EC's. Applied in January 2024 and heard nothing until April/May when they sent me the "continued interest" email. Then nothing again. Finally in early July they sent me an ii, a week later I had the interview and a week after that I got the A (I ended up deferring my acceptance to this upcoming summer so I'm still lurking around this thread). I'm not trying to say that my case is typical and that you should be expecting an ii, only that it's not over til it's over

Wow this gives me hope. Thank you! I was planning on signing a lease late june for my other acceptance but seeing these old July interviews from DMU are making me consider pushing signing a lease to later. Thoughts?

Sorry for delayed response. I was a 500 MCAT with 3.55 GPA. Got the interview invite in late June but already decided elsewhere. Definetely still hope! I filled out the continued interest both times and just waited. I would push back signing the lease!

OOS A a while back, thinking I was unofficially WL'ed and they just didn't share that. Is there a GM for the class?

There's currently a facebook page for the Class of 2029, Log into Facebook , under management from students/staffing from DMU.

I'm not sure if any of the second years or first years have made a groupme for the incoming class yet.

OOS A. Interactive was 2/14. Didn't get WL or anything. Will be declining tho. Hope one of yall gets it!!!

Group session 3/28, straight OOS A today. Will be withdrawing, wish good luck to you guys!

Accepted folks, did any of you get a scholarship from DMU? Or do we apply for those right now?

has anyone gotten off the alt list recently? i got the text too asking if i'm still interested

Q1, they reached out to me via text when they were approaching me on the waitlist to confirm interest. Sorry for late reply.

How long did it take to hear if you were accepted or waitlisted ? I have the group interview on 6/27

Do you think its worth it ?? Or am I mostly interviewing to be waitlisted ?

If this helps, I know someone who got an interview in June, got put on waitlist, then got off about a week later with an A.

Waitlist can be about 1-2 weeks of wait for an A after a decision has been made, based on what I've seen from other peers who were in the May-June waitlist void.

This is reassuring. I decided to just go ahead and do it ! I'll never know if I don't try !

For everyone who got accepted, did the text indicate it was from DMU? I just got a text but I don't know if it's from them 😅

Dumb but real question, do incoming students need to purchase a stethoscope? I haven't heard or read anything about needing any materials other than a computer

From incoming student GroupMe, one of the current students posted a general guide of medical supplies to buy. This includes but is not limited to the following:

-Reflex hammer
-Tuning fork
-Opthalmoscope/Otoscope
-Indeed a stethoscope
-Manual bp cuff
-Optional but maybe useful are portable OMM table, gloves for cadavers, safety glasses, and medical supply bag

They recommend that nothing at this point needs to be professional or of the highest quality, just get what fits your budget.

Yes, the text comes out first, then you’ll get an email. I think they also will schedule to have someone call you for a 15 min conversation about your onboarding process with DMU or something like that. (I forgot if this was an email or call though)

Btw, Is the incoming GroupMe linked in this forum?

Just want to add on this great list with my 2 cents:

Buy what you need as you go. It’s nice to have the stethoscope and BP cuff early since it’s one of the first things you need (plus prime day is coming).

I heard OMM portable table is mandatory for military/ military scholarship students. But that’s also down the line if you are. For everyone else: Almost everyone I know doesn’t have this thing.

You will need safety goggles (these can be the thick clunky ones or the Cool sleek glasses style one. Basically any eye protection) and gloves for anatomy lab which is once a week (or twice sometimes). Or leech on someone else’s gloves.

I personally borrowed half of the equipment on their supplies list.

if i remember correctly for the first semester you only really need the stethoscope and the bp cuff, along with goggles, gloves, and scrubs for anatomy. The rest you can buy off of amazon later. I dont recommend buying from the school bc its too expensive.

I emailed admissions on Monday and they confirmed they are still working through Q1
Wow! I cannot believe they are still on Q1. WL is moving very slow. I thought they would be on Q2 or Q3 by now. Thanks for the update.

I wonder if they are still sending iis

Did they say they were almost done with Q1?
No, I asked that but they didn’t say how far along they are. I am Q2 and I start at another school on 7/14 so that’s I wanted to know. This is what the whole email said: “Thank you for the email. The admissions committee is still working through the first quartile at this time.”

You think these schools would be more open with their information with schools starting in about 1 -2 weeks. They do not care! Sometimes I think they are very unethical with this whole process.
