Anyone got an II w/ a lower MCAT? I am in-state and go to MSU rn and have a 497 MCAT and 3.82 GPA and just got the interview email. I was very suprised.
When did you submit?OOS interviewed today! No ties to Michigan or midwest. 3.2, 506. 3.8 masters (30 credits).
Honestly, you never know what each school looks for, so I think the whole MD vs DO doesn't really matter; schools just want to make sure they feel you're a good fit or not. I interviewed here, and it went great, manifesting the A for me and an interview for you!!Ive been hoping for an II from MSU COM. I was shocked that MSU CHM offered me an interview but not their DO school. This whole process is such an enigma.
Hi, congratulations! Could you share when you submitted your secondary? I’m still waiting on any response.Anyone got an II w/ a lower MCAT? I am in-state and go to MSU rn and have a 497 MCAT and 3.82 GPA and just got the interview email. I was very suprised.
What were ur stats?+1 OOS WL Today. Interviewed in December.
3.78/507What were ur stats?
Based on their website, it seems like students had two classes over the summer from 7/15 to 8/16, and then the fall term started on 8/26. Check this link for a detailed breakdown of the courses and semesters if you'd like.Does anyone know when the first day of class is likely to be for MSUCOM? Based on last year
I've been complete since June 30th, have a 3.43 science GPA, and 3.58 cumulative GPA and a 509 MCAT. I am also a Canadian student. Does anyone have any insights into whether MSU would consider me? I have not recieved an interview and am losing hope. This is my top choice.
I believe Detroit isAre any of the campuses full yet?
Current 2nd year student! Feel free to PM me!Are there any current MSUCOM students here? I have a few questions regarding campus choices
How do you know?I believe Detroit is
Are any of the campuses full yet?
does this mean there's no chance of being waitlisted for Detroit either? As in all the offered seats have committed to attending?I ranked Detroit as my first option but got East Lansing instead because Detroit was full.
Congratulations!!! When did u interview?Canadian A today!
Interviewed Jan 16!Congratulations!!! When did u interview?
wondering the sameWould it be too late to send an update letter if we havent received an II?
Im not sure why either but it could be due to privacy concerns. What I can tell you is that the recent matches are on par if not better than what is publicly available online with many recent graduates matching into big academic centers around the country. Send me a DM if you must know.Curious what people think about this
They don’t have any recent match lists published. Last data is the Specialty Competitiveness Guide which lists placement (and a lot of other data) from 2020 to 2022.
I emailed admissions about this and they told me they cannot share this information beyond the stats and figures page of the site. Exact words were “Please scroll down https://osteopathicmedicine.msu.edu/future-students/why-msu-college-osteopathic-medicinehere. This is the best information we can release.”
No other school that I’ve checked on lacks residency placement data, let alone refuses to release it when asked. The previous info is quite solid, but I find this lack of transparency a little weird.
Don’t prospective students have the right to access out come data like board scores and detailed match lists? If they released such a detailed report for 3 years why not release more recent data?
Called them the other day, yes they take them but it’s through the portal. Are update letters frowned upon here? I’ve heard nothing since being marked complete. In the meantime, I got 2 articles accepted for pub into reputable journals as a 2nd author, so I thought an update may help my chances for getting an interview.
Just be yourself. The interview was very conversational, and they seemed to really just want to get to know you moreDoes anyone have tips for the interview?
Super conventional interview tbh, they seem to read from a list of questions. I actually thought it was my worst interview, but then got my acceptance so stay confident!Does anyone have tips for the interview?
I thanked the admission committee for offering the interview, then talked about how I had the pleasure of meeting and conversing with my interviewer.Since we upload thank you letters to the portal, did you guys address it to the admissions committee or the interviewer directly?
