2024-2025 McGovern

How does McGovern decide to take applicants after an interview? Do they decide based on the interview cohort? I.e. If my interview day had 40 people at post-II acceptance for MMS is 40%, 16 people from my interview day get accepted?? Or, is it more individual?

They use the match system so they are always evaluating and comparing applicants. There could be a case where one interview cohort all gets in, another where nobody does.

Nobody knows how they do the evaluations, best you can do is prepare for future interviews and make a decision on which one fits you best!

Hi there! Just wanted to offer some words of encouragement to everyone still waiting for an II. I was a relatively high stat applicant last year, submitted all my stuff in June, and didn't interview with McGovern until December. I then got a prematch offer like a month and a half later. All of that to say - don't give up hope! I have no idea how they decide the order of interview invites, but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with order of submissions, so don't get discouraged if you haven't heard from them yet, even if you were really expecting to by now. It's not over until it's over!

when did you get the II

does anyone know what time the interview goes from? like is it a morning or after lunch thing?

One was in the morning at 10am and the other was at 2pm. And also some were finished before noon.
Sounds like luck of the draw and people need to give themselves most of the for interviews to be safe until they get their actual schedule.

+1 IS II, submitted 7/4, LM ~70, 2q casper

Sorry if this is dumb, but I'm a bit lost with how interviews work. It's entirely virtual, right? Is the "MMS Zap Portal" just a link for video/virtual interviewing?

Very good information.
1212 interviews which is a LOT
LM of 70.5 for matriculating students which mean their interviewed cohort average is probably 73.
Disproportionate female to male ratio which is surprising for McGovern.
Average age seems lower than most schools?

Would you say it’s appropriate to send a letter of interest with some updates at this point? McGovern is in my top 3 choice of programs. My LM is quite a bit higher than their matriculation LM and I would love to have an opportunity to showcase my fit for this program.

You can send an update letter (new things you are doing, achievements, etc). If you are not doing anything new that was not in your primary, I would not send one because it is a nothing burger.
A letter of intent (which is what you are referencing) is most appropriate post interviews - it is you saying that you like their school the most and want to go there 100% over anywhere else. Before interviews it is useless since they have not evaluated your application yet.
Letter of interest is what you send if you get waitlisted. It is similar to letter of intent but is you telling the school that they should really take you off of the waitlist if possible since there is a 100% chance you will attend there.

Be patient and let the cycle run its course!

Any insight into how many pre-match offers McGovern typically makes?

Yeah they don’t prematch many students at McGovern. I only know a few people that pre-matched.

might be neurotic but does it matter if i do the kira talent assessment on the last day before it's due?

yeah but it doesn't matter that i do it on the first day it was assigned or the day it's due?
It does not matter, I don't think they are analyzing every minute detail down to when you submitted your Kira. As long as you complete before deadline it should be fine

Could I also get a bit more information about this? Thanks for the assistance.
You can DM me with a specific question if you have it.
My general answer is that LOI are not very important in the big picture of TMDSAS admissions.
We can show our preference by ranking our schools for the Match, that’s where your word means the most.
