forgot to post but IS II on 9/5 LM 82 complete 6/27
After the interview, they sent a post-interview evaluation link and said that their second-look dates will be sent at a later date. For those of you that already interviewed, did you receive any communication after? I know some schools like PLFSOM send campus tour invites after the interview day.
Also, if you send a thank-you note, did you receive communication about that as well?
Same here, no response! After the interview, they sent a post-interview evaluation link and said that their second-look dates will be sent at a later date.
They said you could send thank you notes directly to your interviewers or to the admissions office to pass along to your interviewers. I sent mine directly to my interviews and never got a response lol
you will do amazing! If you were invited, they want you. So all you got to do is to be yourself and prove to them you are who you say you are on paper!+1 IS II today, LM 69, complete 8/28 once my MCAT retake came in and submitted the secondary on the same day. First TX II and my top choice for TX! God I'm so excited but nervous
Congrats .. when did you submit your primary / secondary ? I have similar LM and completed on 8/23 so curious+1 IS II today, LM 69, complete 8/28 once my MCAT retake came in and submitted the secondary on the same day. First TX II and my top choice for TX! God I'm so excited but nervous

Hard to estimate , this is the first year McGovern is trying it out. Try to put it behind you before your actual interview- 🤞🏻I can't say I screwed it up, but I definitely wasn't at my best during the KiraTalent interview. I wasn't the most detailed on the questions and did not even take up all the time on one of them. Does anyone know how important it is for admissions?

I submitted 6/23 and have not heard back. Does this mean it was passed over?Any June submitters here with no II? LM 72
I dont think so. TBH maybe my information is a bit out of date but I dont believe the order of interviews at non-prematch heavy schools matter that much since everyone gets a fair shot on match day. However, I do think getting an interview for prematch heavy schools sooner might be somewhat indicative of how admissions might go or how much they want you (I think UTMB and UTSW are the two very heavy prematch schools). The reason why I believe that is both schools fill nearly their entire class with prematches and fill whoever they lose to the match during match day. Anyone have any insights or corrections to my statement?I submitted 6/23 and have not heard back. Does this mean it was passed over?
hi! mcgovern student here, happy to answer any questions! Also, are there any current students I can talk to here? I have a couple questions!
IS II received yesterday. complete 8/26. LM 68.

The tour days are for your benefit, to give you a chance to see the facilities & maybe check out where you might live in Houston if accepted there. If you already did interview day, had MMS already made a decision about your acceptance? Does LOI and/or attendance of tour date give an advantage for acceptance? I have low stats for an ORM and MMS is my first choice school. Any ADCOM have insights for MMS specific admissions process?
Sorry I mean I haven't sent in a LOI yet, but I am wondering now when I send it in about a week or so, would they mark it down and read it and would that benefit me?The tour days are for your benefit, to give you a chance to see the facilities & maybe check out where you might live in Houston if accepted there.
Whoever interviewed you has no doubt made notes about it and you and others will be discussed at committee meetings sometime after your interview.
Visiting or not visiting does not have an impact on your admission decision, unless you are completely obnoxious on your visit day in which case it could affect you negatively.
I also messed up a bit on one of the questions and didn't really answer part of the prompt. I hope its not a huge factor in decisions since its the first year they're using itI can't say I screwed it up, but I definitely wasn't at my best during the KiraTalent interview. I still haven't, was complete on 7/22Did you guys received an email after your application was marked completed?
Got an email confirming they received my secondary. Not sure if they send a separate "Application Marked Complete" email like other schools.Did you guys received an email after your application was marked completed?
That is just fine to choose a date more than 2 weeks away -Quick question! I just received an II, they ask us to schedule our interview within two weeks of being invited however the earliest date showing up for me is October 25th. Would it be a problem to sign up for this earliest date or should I email and ask?
I have a couple: is attendance mandatory at McGovern, and are P/F classes only in the first semester or throughout? I'm seeing mixed answers from previous threads about both questions so I wanted to confirm. Also, on a more personal note, how do you find the work/life balance at McGovern with respect to curriculum structure, study habits, collaboration-culture, and free time? What big suggestions would you give to those of us preparing for med school about not getting burnt out and making the most out of the next 4 years?McGovern student here, happy to answer any questions.

Thank you for the insight! Thats good to hear. And regarding attendance, is it strictly mandatory? I attended a UTHealth conference a couple years back, and I recall a student from McGovern mentioning that there was a synch/asynch option for classes. I may be delusion though!Hi there!
McGovern is P/F only for the first semester.
I’m only a first year student but would say the work life balance has been pretty good. There is plenty of time to study and to have fun. The class is really collaborative as well. As cliche as it sounds, make time for the things you enjoy so you don’t get burnt out.

IS II, LM 72
From what I know it’s always two, unless one can’t make it for some reasonFor interviews, I heard that you can get matched with 1 or 2 interviewers. Does the number of interviewers you're matched with imply anything about what the school thinks of you?
Agree. I cant imagine doing just one unless people dont consider a student interviewer as one or something like that. From what I know it’s always two, unless one can’t make it for some reason
You might get 1 faculty & 1 student, or 2 facultyMust've misheard/misinterpreted something then. Apologies.
They usually hide just the GPA/MCAT so they might ask you about any of your activities or essaysdoes anyone know exactly what open file entails? like is it just activities/essays or do they have access to our stats/transcripts
