Hey everyone! For those who got interviews, how long after submitting your secondary did you get an II?

I got my secondary from them 2 days ago and they received my primary over a month ago so there is hope.
 
If anyone has experience with last years cycle, when did Meharry typically begin sending out interviews?

I’ve heard that a lot of the HBCUs take their time with sending secondaries and II’s. I received a secondary a while ago (and submitted the day I received) and it’s been radio silence. I wouldn’t stress if you haven’t received a secondary yet, I would say it’s pretty early still!
 
Hello did anyone on here not get any type of email from Meharry after submitting amcas primary application? I submitted 9/16 and have received 0 emails from them. I didn't even get an acknowledgment of primary email.
 
anyone send an email to admissions and hear back? I have sent two emails but haven't heard back.
 
I checked last cycle's Meharry thread and it seemed very similar to whats going on this year with secondaries and II's. Last year the first II's were sent around mid October and some secondaries didn't get sent out till November or December. Overall, most of the admissions activity seemed to happen in December and January.
 
Took casper really late, so would it be safe to assume that’s why I haven’t heard anything?
 
Have any Canadians received II yet? if so when did you apply?

Lol this is my first serious cycle (I applied last year but was very unfamiliar with the process and did really count on getting in). I don't think my heart can take another application cycle ☠️
 
has anyone in this thread received an interview from meharry yet? This is odd lol.

I will say I submitted my secondary essays and paid the app fees on 08/08. I am not sure if that means it was marked complete on that date because I didn’t receive an email confirming that.
 
Wow boy o boy I guess only 5 people are getting an II this year hear. Im gonna go ahead and congratulate yall on your admission 🥳
 
I got a secondary last year but not this year, even with a higher mcat 🙁.

Idk if they forgot to send me one or what, but I still have access to the system and it gives an option to start a new application for this year. Does this mean they might’ve sent me one? Or should I just start it and maybe they’ll send one later? I don’t want to start one if they didn’t mean for me to do one.

I say go for it. Worst they’d do is disregard it 🤷

they will also probably see in the file once they get to the interview point if it's open file & if they don't notice then, they probably would when reviewing the file for admission post-interview

just some things to consider
 
I say you should still go to the interview if you want too 🤷‍♂️. I heard this year they are specifically going for mcats above 506+ and gpas 3.6 and up. Either way It’s not your fault for their mistake. And for all you know they did it intentionally. But that would be a bit forward because med schools in my opinion should only go after those eager to attend their school…

I did email them because I assumed they did it by mistake. They said you can get invited to interview without submitting a secondary.

EDIT: Tbf I will do the secondary after the interview because I'm sure they would want to use it to make a decision.

just out of curiosity, what are your stats? just trying to gauge what their no secondary necessary for an II standard is lol totally good for you though!

Says alot about them as an institution and the fact that they'll break rules for certain people. The requirement is to finish a secondary before getting an interview invite. How can you say your process is holistic (per their website) when you basically skipped a whole process for others. That was some BS excuse and it's nothing against you as a person.
Anyways, I'll suggest you do the Secondaries. Let them know you didn't because of perhaps financial reasons or something. Then submit immediately after your interview so they can have something to judge you based of.
