Am I toast if I took a month to return their secondaries? I am interested in one of the certificate programs and believe I am a good fit, but that means I had to write more essays on top of full time work. I figured quality was more important than timeliness since they didn't stress turning it around in 2 weeks.

No, you’re totally fine. Just submit when you’re ready

does anyone know if the 1:1 interview with a med student is closed or open file? I cannot for the life of me find anywhere if it is open or closed

I was wondering this as well but my guess is probably open file to only our experiences and not academic metrics.

On MSAR it says that they interviewed 165 IS students last year and 145 matriculated. Is the post-II acceptance just really high or am I not understanding this table? Because for out of state it says they interviewed 25 but 37 matriculated which makes no sense.

I have read in past forums and saw a video on Youtube from a previous dean of admissions that the post II acceptance rate is around 60%. But I agree that MSAR data is confusing for OOS applicants. It appears though that they only interviewed 25 out of over 5000+ OOS applications so getting one probably means you fit their mission.

I think so too! But i’m confused then how 36 OOS students matriculated if only 25 got interviews

Does anyone happen to know if MSU sends out interviews on a monthly basis or something? I see on cycle tracker that they offered interviews in early august but have not done any offers since.

For anyone that interviewed already, how did it feel? I have mine next week and was curious if anyone could share their thoughts.

I interviewed earlier this week. I was so nervous going into the MMI but it was not bad at all! No trick questions. I felt like they truly just wanted to get to know us. I did my med student interview the same day. It was laid back with more traditional questions. I had a chance to ask some questions as well.

It goes so quick when you’re actually going through it. Before I knew it, we were done with all the stations. Advice: don’t stress. You got this! Best of luck!

does anyone know if they accept update letters? i can't find anything online.
