Ik it’s hard to find an answer for this but I was wondering how many people generally got accepted from being deferred. This is my top school so I was crushed when I got the DD email 😭

I would say it is unfortunately hard to know… the best you can do rn is send update letter with some strong interest mixed in to help bolster your app as much as possible for re-review!!

If so, can someone explain the section asking if I want to “apply for the federal unsubsidized loan at this time?”

To my knowledge, you’re just indicating that you would be interested in utilizing federal loan. It’s not binding. They are just getting the ball rolling so you can accept or decline the loan offers when you commit.

For future applicants, do not let well-meaning people scare you off with the odds! Not encouraging a late app, but it is only zero percent chance if you do not apply!

OOS Deferred Decision today II 1/16. If I'm not mistaken about the interview dates, it seems that the last one was 2/6 and I think people who interviewed on that day already received decisions, meaning that it's likely the rest of the spots will go to deferred students next.

Looking at the admissions snapshot and current acceptances there are likely around 56 more acceptances yet to go out, with 128 students either waitlisted or deferred. But please correct me if I got any of this wrong. Good luck to everyone else waiting!
