IS A!

As this is my first acceptance, please join me in prayer (if you wish.)

Psalm 34:1–10:
“I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!
I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack!
The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”

Congratulations! When was your interview date?

Just a warning...a significant proportion of the Class of 2026 failed Step 1. Consider that when making a decision (Source: one of my friends goes there)
do you have any more info/numbers on this? seeing this and then getting an A the same day is kinda unsettling

i haven’t taken one of the required courses and I’m waiting to hear back post-II from here. Does anyone know if I would have to take this course in the spring?

I guess I could email and ask but I don’t want this affecting their decision.

OOS accepted on 12/3, Interviewed 11/14. To any current students who are reading this thread, is there anything I should keep in mind? Like if I have more than 1 acceptance, what about NYMC might make me pick it instead of another school?

Not for but agaisnt NYMC but I guess a lot of the '26 class did not pass Step 1, I'm still trying to find out more info

Can people who have recently been given an II say when their interviews are for? I’m wondering how far out they are currently scheduling interviews. Thanks!

Does anyone have more info about people not passing Step 1?
To be fair, pretty much every school had a significant drop in Step 1 pass rates after it became pass/fail. It still seems that the pass rate at NYMC is pretty standard for medical schools after the shift to P/F (over 90%). I assume the pass rate dropped because people stopped studying for Step 1 as much now that there isn't an incentive to get a high score.

I can tell you it's below the national average now (despite what the website says--they're including retakes, not first time pass rates)

So I just got an email saying "Congratulations on your recent acceptance into the class of 2029. This is to confirm that we are in receipt of your terms & conditions form." I literally haven't even interviewed here and am very confused..

Did anyone else get this? Like should I email admissions or
Didn’t get this but take it and run

I was complete here around 7/20, but radio silence since then. Should I send an update letter to them? OOS LM 71

I am in the exact same boat here. Does anyone know thier policy on update letters and how to send them if they are accepted?

Their website shows pass rates and it looks like they dropped in pass rates both years. Down 3% in 2022 when it was changed to pass/fail and then another 5% in 2023. Anyone know if there were any changes internally to curriculum outside of just Step 1 switching to P/F?

Here's the website btw: Outcomes.

I cannot remember their policy on update letters or letters of interest. Does anyone remember their policy and where to send these? Thanks so much!
