2024-2025 NYU (Grossman)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
With next week being Thanksgiving, do we think people who interviewed the week of 10/28 might hear the initial decision this week?

Do we know what percentage of interview invites NYU has sent out by now? I got an interview early in the cycle last year and blew it, and this year I haven't even been that lucky.

What is the area code for the call

There's still a decent number of IIs left between now and early/mid December. Crossing my fingers.
how do you know? Cycletrack says that their last interviews were sent out early October... seems like they're done

Dean Rivera said in my interview session that the season lasts from September through the end of December / first week of January, and he’d like for 33% of As to be sent out in the first half of that timeframe and 66% of As to be sent out in the second half. The intent is to help ensure that applicants who interview later in the cycle aren’t at a disadvantage, and to get all A’s out early enough that folks can attend the first look event in January.

Also, the acceptances are done manually (as others in the thread have stated, he calls twice on Friday and maybe Tuesday afternoons), and thus, they take longer to deliver than the post II rejections and CR emails (which seem to be done automatically 3-4 weeks after an interview, as a courtesy).

If you’re feeling uneasy about the waiting… you’re not alone My fingers are crossed for us!
This is interesting, bc the last interview invites were sent out almost two months ago on 10/3 according to Cycletrack.

Schools have patterns in how they conduct interview invitations. For the last several cycles, NYU has sent out their interviews across 4 waves, with one in July, one in August/September, and two in November/December.

There have only been two this cycle, so it’s to be expected that there will be 1-2 more 🙂!

ahh thanks! Always great hearing from you Mr. Macrophage

Do we think they're done sending out interview invites for the cycle?

Friend got an II today - The only spot available was tomorrow - Did anyone else check today and see if there were interview spots other than tomorrow?

Any thoughts on whether a letter of intent pre-II is worth it at this point (or ever)? I understand it's highly irregular, but I have strong ties to the school and feel a shot in the dark may be warranted this late.

Omg that quick turnaround has to be stressful good luck to ur friend

Has anyone interviewing for the MSTP heard more details on when to expect decisions? I interviewed in September and was put on CR. If anyone who interviewed later than that has updated timeline details, they would be greatly appreciated!

What is CR? I interviewed MSTP 11/12-11/13 and I think they said they’d let us know within 3 weeks (emphasis on I think)

if anyone attended todays info session with dean rivera and could share any updates regarding class size, acceptances, would be much appreciated👑
Per Dean Rivera:
They’ll be accepting around 120-130 students to fill 92 seats, and close to 70 acceptances have gone out so far. The rest will go out by the end of December (as well as rejections and waitlists)
