Stupid Question: Got a Provisional Acceptance recently. Do I need to do anything to finalize lol? Or just wait?

i've hear from different faculty a few different answers, but always between 110-120. there's over 110 currently deposited.

how many students are in the class?
I think they’re going to fill the 2025 entering class up to 121 or 122 students. They are seeking accreditation from COCA for 150. The first year they were allowed to have 50% of that (75) plus 8% of that 75 to total 81 for the inaugural class. The second year they are allowed to fill 75% of their class (112.5) plus 8% of that 112.5 to total 121/122 depending if they round up or down on the 112. I think they have about 110 - 112 people in the class currently filled, but there is probably about to be a lot of waitlist movement as people get accepted into their state schools.

oh i definitely agree that there will be a lot of waitlist movement (1. DO 2. new DO) but i don't think they'll go over 120. like i said, i heard from multiple faculty and the highest number i heard was 120. heard lots of 112 though. and as far as COCA is concerned, they only state 8% increase allowed for first year. considering we're on 2nd year, i'm not sure that 8% rule applies considering it's not mentioned in COCA's class size policy.
currently (2-21-25 10AM PST) there is exactly 111 people in the class.

Just got an interview invite! Submitted my secondary on Feb 17th. Any advice? What were the hardest interview questions?

Haha yep, I have an interview on March 7 at LMU-DCOM!

Awesome, did you do a in person or virtual? A friend told met he virtual one was pretty tough, especially compared to LMU-DCOM, and she got accepted to both.
Have you been accepted to BUCOM? Is it closed file or open?
I'm honestly shocked to be getting interview invites this late in the season, especially within 1 week of submitting my secondaries.

yes, accepted here. closed file. and yeah, BUCOM is on top of things.

Could anyone share a breakdown of how the interview is structured? I read that this is the first year they're doing MMI -- what should I be expecting (i.e. how many rounds of interviews and how long per station, any acting scenarios, were they all situational or had some basic interview style questions too?)

i wanna say there's ~10 stations, give or take. 8 minutes per station. question style was half and half

Does anyone know if they still have any seats left or are they only doing provisional acceptances at this point? My interview is tomorrow morning!!

maybe low single digits, if any. but there's bound to be movement. it's nice that they do provisional acceptances regardless, in case of someone having no As

IS II! Any recommendations what to prepare for? Anything helps, thanks!
Does IS II mean you got an interview? Tbh I don't know all of the acronyms people use on here...

I just interviewed last Thursday and the one thing i wish I knew before going in was NOT to worry!!
There was 8 people interviewing total, and 8 people who interviewed us. One was a patient actor. Nobody grilled us on anything and I had a lot of non-clinical and non-med school related conversations during the interview part. They will say when you get there that they just want to get to know you at this point because you've already shown them good things in your applications. I'll let yal know what happens when I hear back...

Thank you! Learning not to worry is always the hardest part.

Almost everyone asked why memphis and why bucom in addition to their assigned question. Only 8min total per person (2min to prepare a response and 6min in the room to answer, or 8min to go straight in a respond). Specific questions were: Tell me about yourself, describe a situation when you experienced something unethical and how you responded, what does patient diversity and background mean to you, why BUCOM, why memphis, go calm the patient (actor) as they are waiting on test results, there was one small writing response section, and one more question that I am forgetting.

Nerves are your worst enemy, they want to get to know you and see you actually respond to their questions in a non-rehearsed fashion.

They said they change people who do the interview every session, so there could be different questions.

Patient actor one was honestly the most fun

sounds almost exactly like the stations from back in august, so it doesn't seem like the main questions are being switched up all too much

congrats everyone with a provisional A. best of luck with the movement this year!

Just gave up my A for a different opportunity. Hoping one of you hears good news soon!

Thanks!

Having a provisional A, should I reach out to them at all to tell them of my desire to attend this fall or should I just wait and see what happens?

ACCEPTED!!!!!!!! For all those waiting, it’s possibly don’t ever give up!
Congratulations!!!
When did you interview?
Is this a full acceptance or provisional acceptance? They told me that their class for 2025 is full and that I am basically waitlisted but guaranteed a seat for 2026.
