2024-2025 U Houston (Fertitta)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I never was asked to submit an ID, I think you can on Amp but that doesn't mean you should
No not an actual ID, it’s a question that ask about do you have a valid state ID and ask if everything on your application is accurate. You just click the check box.

Has anyone been able to get a hold of this school by phone ?

Has anyone sent them an update letter? I wanted to call them to ask but they don't seem to have a working number.

Email your update to them if you feel the need to, if they don't "take" updates they simply won't add it to your file for further review

I wont be able to attend the Med admissions connect session, however can someone please ask about decisions?

I also can’t attend but I have some questions if anyone knows the answer.

1. Is curriculum pass fail?
2. Are lectures mandatory?
3. I know there is no affiliated hospital, but what are rotations like? Do you travel? Lottery system?

I wish the interview day at least had a short presentation

1. Yes, for pre-clinical. H/P/F for clinical.
2. Yes
3. They are affiliated with HCA Houston, but have minor rotations at other hospitals, and a couple within TMC. They are also new so they are bound to grow and expand themselves into other networks. I am not sure about traveling and how rotations are determined, however. Someone please feel free to add on to or correct my answer.

It wouldn’t save at all. I sent an email but didn’t get a reply but they replied to my fee waiver. Probably just a glitch but ya I just submitted. Hopefully it’s fine.
It happened to me as well but I just submitted it. Did you end up hearing back from them? I'm glad I wasn't the only one it happened to

Hey, I couldn't make it office hours. Did they answer any of the questions people asked on this forum earlier?

Please, please y'all. 3/4 of the posts on this page must be "when are things going to happen?"

Is it dumb for me to not finish the secondary? I received an A last week to a non Texas school (very grateful) and while this school’s tuition is much cheaper the fit doesn’t align super well with me. Battling some guilt over the invitation with burnout from this process.

With an acceptance elsewhere, you have the luxury of choice and can consider how the schools fit your goals

Hi everyone, I’m a new member to SDN and I’m a Texas resident. I got a secondary invite from them this past Monday (11/11)!!! I’m super excited about this as this was the only school I’ve heard from. I feel my values align w the schools mission, so I’m hoping for an II.

Radio silence for me since 8/1...I would assume yes, but I know we're not supposed to assume! It's not over until it's over!
Same timeline and silence here too, but I'm really still trying to keep hope! Really like this school and really want that II... not really sure when it might be time to call it "over" especially with many people saying the whole cycle felt slower/more delayed in general this year...

I emailed them today to ask if there was another office hour time offered next week due to the holidays! Hopefully that’s more convenient for us working people😂

Has anyone that submitted a secondary in early October received an interview invite? I believe the last person I saw here receiving an interview was an August submission. Thank you!

Another person I know who interviewed said pre-matches may be next week and went to cougar med. Who knows though! Hoping even as a more recent interviewer to hear soon🙂 I am sorry for feeding the delusion

Anyone else get a II back in June/July and then never heard anything again? That's a soft R at this point, with any of the Texas schools, right?

No, because this school has not given out any acceptances so far this year.

There are no “soft” rejections, y’all.
All rejections are definite, and hard.
Either a school will reject you directly, or by letting the time clock run out until the end of January with no offer, you will know.

BUT - if you have had an interview from this school, rank them for Match Day and you could still get in. :luck::xf:👍👍

Only one so far or is it because they are trying to reach out as opposed to emailing?
