I just got a secondary here. Ngl, I forgot I applied (app transmitted early sept). Is it worth submitting the secondary this late in the process?
Yes, because they read your primary app and send secondaries to those they think are a good fit for their school

Hi all, I just received a secondary today and I'm a little confused by what counts for some of the questions. Like would teaching STEM to inner-city kids in schools be "social service for underserved"? For experience in community/public health, would volunteering in nursing homes count, or would it have to be pretty explicitly like community clinics or public health initiatives? Just trying to gauge my own fit with this school before I shell out $60.

Figuring out your fit is good, but do you have any admissions offers yet? Do you think it’s smart to pursue all possibilities until you have one?

Yes on STEM
Yes on Nursing homes

Its upto you to make it fit the prompt and ensure it reads well.

Read @wysdoc post about shelling out $60. You can debate this question only when you have a prematch.

Anyone know how long the interview day is? How was the interview for those that interviewed? I know its MMI but have super general info

Since the campus tour started, will they have anymore weekly Cougar Med office hours on Fridays?
Any idea?

They sent an email yesterday. Zztexas, do you get these emails? You've asked many questions about it
These emails are sent for weekly Friday office hour (Cougar Med Connect) only after the interview.
Do they stop the email after a while or keep sending them every week?
Please comment.

Was the Cougar Med Connect meeting today?
A lot of the messages that are sent in this chat people do not know for sure. If you have this many questions, you could always reach out to admissions if it’s something urgent.

Did most of you receive interview information such as time and itinerary the day before?

Anyone know if they are open today? They emailed me saying I need to reschedule my interview, but nobody is responding.

I love getting an email the day before my interview asking me to reschedule for a later date. Not like I had to ask off work or anything lol. I get it, things happen but it's still kind of annoying

An applicant who has interviewed here said this

But even if it's a half-day and they don't tell you when your interview is exactly until the day before, you'll need to plan a clear day for it

Sorry as you can tell I’m nervous. Thank you!

That comment is entirely correct. You basically get to choose 2 time periods (either 10AM or 2PM). If you choose 10AM, the day runs like this:

9:30AM-10AM you enter a zoom where pretty much they give a brief introduction and allow you to ask any questions about the MMI

10-11:30AM you do I think 8 stations, one of them being a break station. After your last station you’re finished, simple. So in total it’s approximately 2 hours.

For the 2PM session it’s pretty much the same but just coordinate the time with 2PM instead of 10AM. Hope this helps.

Just got the secondary today! Submitted my primary a while back on 06/19 as an IS applicant. Does anyone know if they send secondaries to everyone? Or are they selective?

They screen and send out secondaries to those they feel fit their primary care/ SE Texas mission

Selective based on mission fit so this is great news for you

Is there any data on how many secondaries they send out relative to primaries? And then how many interviews from X secondaries?

Anyone else having an issue with the certification section? For some reason it won’t save my check mark for the ID/accurate information.

Are we allowed to send update letters to the school? I did not see anything on the website against it or the applicant portal. I got a secondary a couple of months ago

Did anyone who went to last Friday's office hours ask about when they are releasing prematches?

We all thought you were going to do that 🤔

Nobody knows, y’all, and there are 4 other programs which haven’t made offers yet either
