2024-2025 UCLA (Geffen)

yall should I just give up on receiving a secondary from this school

Is you app “late” if it is complete the last week of september?

for UCLA specifically -- its only "late" if you dont submit it within the 2 week timeline. otherwise, you're golden!
If that's how "late" is defined, you can't be late for UCLA because your application is locked after 15 days.

my mcat score came back on 8/27 so thats when my app was complete. so it's been a little over a month and I still don't have a secondary. I'm holding on to hope tho bc this school is my top choice
fwiw I was complete 8/27 and got an OOS secondary on 09/01. LM 63

i'll be honest, i really am starting to doubt whether they have any more secondaries to send to me and some others. it seems so late in the cycle to get one but then again i know nothing about this experience as a first timer. predictions on how much more they'll send out? when's the last interview in 2025 usually?

here is their posted timeline. looks like they stop processing primary apps nov 1 and will probably stop sending secondaries shortly after. impossible to say how many more secondaries they're holding on to. as for interviews, looks like they extend them through feb.

Anyone complete on or after 7/28 receive any II?

I'm curious, how do you know they looked at all of the completed applications already?
AMCAS has been caught up with applications for over a month now and they are efficient with reading essays because they send secondaries fast AF after verification. Although, I suspect they have access to your essays before your application is verified if you designated their school.

I thought UCLA was one of the few schools that actually screens before sending secondaries?
They do, but they give it very quicky after verification if they want to send you one. Plus, AMCAS is caught up with primaries verification for the last month, so it's not like UCLA is backlogged anymore.

do yall think they'll send out some more As today?

Probably not. In past years I don’t think they sent decisions more than one day in a week

Ok, but I am referring to secondaries and there's no way to tell where they're at in terms of reviewing complete apps.

ya let's not lose hope - I think this is one school 'no news is good news' really applies to.
