No, but there are 10 seats set aside for Idaho applicants so I assume it’s like its own little list so they can fill that quota
Oh ok because past years said they specified OOS, Idaho seats, instate, or OOS Utah school in the email but my email had nothing of the sort. Just curious thanks!

+ IS R. U of U ungrad. Worked multiple jobs at The U and had multiple LORs from profs there. Thought my application was strong. Interview was fine, but not great (it was with a med student). Pretty surprised that I didn’t get WL’d. Thank goodness I have other options though! Gl to everyone

Allegedly around 100 and avg of 55ish get off. 50 reported from last year on MSAR. In an article an admissions officer said around 170 total As went out so that would be only 40-45 off WL which is lower end. Apparently one year around 3/4ths got off (70/100). Would assume it depends on the year and definitely individual chances are based on what waitlist you’re a part of since historically the U OOS moves fast

Received invite to apply to Promis2U!! I don't know much about it, but it seems alright 🙏🙏
Anyone else on the waitlist also get that invite? It lowkey sounds like a guaranteed rejection for this cycle if they’re offering it, but maybe I’m just jaded haha.

It’s an invitation to apply to their Promis2U program
I asked some people who are current students about the program. They said it is not a rejection and they send it to any qualified applicants. The person I spoke to said they have known people who have applied to Promise2U and gotten into the U off the waitlist as well as people who have applied to promis2U and have never gotten off the waitlist. They also let me know that if you complete the program, your chances of getting into the U after the year are near 100%. Just a little more info for anyone who is interested in applying.

For waitlisted folks: i scoured previous SDN threads for the last three application cycles worth of data to try to estimate approximately when students get contacted to get off the waitlist. Here are the dates and the timeline as made by chatgpt. Note that the x axis says 2024 erroneously since this is a compilation of 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024, but the month and date are correct. In case you guys are as neurotic as me about wanting to know when to expect to hear, if at all.
It seems there is a large bit of movement around the plan to enroll date, with a median reported date of may 2. Also note that the sample size is small given that a supposed 50+ got in off the waitlist last year and only 17 reported on SDN over three years.

I am a first-year medical student at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah, and 2 years ago today, I was on the waitlist at the SFESOM and later that year, was rejected from medical school. During that time, I like many, wanted answers and wondered what I should do differently on my next application. Has anyone heard about scholarships from the office of admissions? I know the financial aid ones have already been awarded but what’s the timeline for hearing about office of admission? Or have they already been awarded? And when will official cost of attendance be released?

That would be nice... I noticed the criteria says "accepted to and enrolled at SFESOM" though so maybe they're assuming you're committed if you applied. Idk
Yea the wording is a bit tricky but I figured if it's for incoming first year med students they'd have to let you know so you can decide, but maybe you only find out if you actually enroll.
