+1 WL IS, kinda not shocked, that one way virtual interview was a very awkward format

WL is not necessarily an R! Students do get off of the waitlist, it just makes the future much tougher to plan for
If this helps anyone's spirits, per the email:

"While we are unable to give you detailed information about your particular chances, we can tell you that approximately twenty-five percent of the final class is selected from this list."

Hi everyone, I'm confused about the interview - is the virtual Kira MMI our only real interview? Or does the virtual session contain a talk interview as well?

The virtual session has a group activity that as far as I was aware was being watched by adcoms. Not sure why we would need to do that if not for the admissions decision. Maybe they use it to pull people off the waitlist 🤷‍♂️

Both are part of the interview process. The virtual Kira MMI is meant to replace the direct question and answer part of the traditional interview. It's a bit awkward, but if you practice recording yourself and imagine you are responding to an actual person, you will eventually get the hang of it. The group activity is to see how you interact with other people while discussing an assigned topic. It is low key, and in my humble opinion way less stressful than the virtual one because you are getting some feedback from the other participants. Just remember to be respectful of other people's opnions even if you disagree, while not shying away from voicing your thoughts on the subject. The good news is, if you made it to the interview part at Wake, you have a pretty decent shot at getting in. Try to relax and enjoy the process. Easier said than done, I know! Best of luck!!

Thank you so much!

To those who are worried about being completed June-July and hearing nothing, I was complete early July last cycle and didn’t hear back until Jan when I got an II.
did you submit any update letters?

Did you send thank you notes to the admissions email or upload to the portal?
