ArroWW game

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So, we need to get rid of the "bad" villagers (criminals), thereby lowering the number of villagers, making it easier for the wolves to win.

Maybe us criminals can go play a side game in the sign up thread since no one wants us to play
I'm seeing a lot of "uh, they are probably not a villager, probably chaos. I bet they have a separate win condition."

I can tell you that as a criminal, I had no win condition. I think people throwing the separate win condition suggestions out willy nilly are thinking lazy.

Feel free to help brainstorm ideas on why there haven't been any kills. I think most people are expressing that criminals shouldn't be dismissed completely, but are not the immediate problem at the moment.

From what I've read, the general thought is recruitment, not separate win condition.

I just wasn't sure if the criminals as a group may have a win condition. It doesn't appear to be so, so I am not actively looking to get rid of blue people just yet. However, some of the abilities are chaotic, such as Lissa being able to block Diggle. It will be a fine line to walk and make the game interdasting.

I didn't say that.

Maybe "good" just needs to get to them first?
I don't know...i'm just speculating here....and in a DC world...aren't criminals usually...not great people?

At the moment, the fact that wolves aren't killing villagers at night doesn't trouble me. Seems like a good thing to me. If it's protection, I don't want the protector to out themselves, etc, obvious stuff.

If it's a game of recruitment (which I have not seen any evidence of), I am still a free agent, so I don't really have any clue how it is working (if it exists). I am going to operate under the assumption that it's villagers vs wolves until proven otherwise.

Oh I see she has explained.

I guess my sticking point is why in the world would someone find out not just that a convert failed, but who failed.

Samoa's role sounds fishier than my diet on Fridays in lent, but I need to wrap my head around the other part first.

I think it would be way too easy to have criminals be the only line of recruitment for wolves... then we would easily know who to look for as converts... I don't think SOV would make it that straightforward.... I think anyone could easily be converted....

I think there have not been any kills due to protection and wolves going after the wrong people....

unless SOV decided to start with one wolf.... but it is not his usual MO

So villagers cannot be less than great people? Villagers can only be heroes, great people?

Right, they're not killing villagers. So what are they doing then? I doubt they're just sitting on their butts.

The concern is that there will be no way to tell who has been recruited when (if this is indeed what we're facing). So some degree of paranoia is required rather than thinking everything is just peachy. Also, the information you outed before you were lynched was both unnecessary and harmful, so I'm not going to dismiss that entirely either.

What was in your cheerios this morning dude?

caffeine. you just aren't making sense. it seems you are trying to say that criminals are bad people. that could be true, but the question should be whether or not they are villagers. I maintain that they are.

I am simply trying to get people away from the easy, low hanging fruit (criminals), and try to get a wolf.

SOV already answered this question to an extent. We have Wolves, and we have non-wolf groups.

Right now, the criminals are listed as a non-wolf group.

Eye on the prize people.

Well, thank DocE for that.

I'm not saying criminals are the only options for converts, just that it's possible that they're hired like in Spymaster. I'm not wanting to lynch them right now because we don't know. I'm saying that it can't be entirely dismissed. There isn't any sort of hunt going on for criminals right now.

which makes me question the significance of the Samoa failed recruitment. That's the opposite of vague.

SOV does not like to give away all of the answers when he mods. He is usually purposefully vague. Having modded with him a few times now - that is usually how he operates. He will not tell you whether you protected someone successfully, whether you avoided attack, and will often mess with your head for his own amusement. It is his style.

I think we are trying to do the same thing. I am not going to shut up about criminals not being wolves until people stop going that direction, or I have to step away from my computer.

I would be pissed, but I wouldn't have screwed other people that had nothing to do with the situation.

I was just getting the info I had to ALL sides. Equal opportunity and all that. Since DocE said I was one of 4 wolves and all. Just in case I really was oblivious to the fact I was a wolf.

And I am not saying they are wolves....nor am I voting for you. I'm saying I have a reason to think they may not be true villager. I'm saying there might be something plain villagers have to do to save criminals from turning bad. I don't know that for sure and I don't know how, but wanted to put my thought out there...

Where did he get the number 4 from? Weird. I forgot about that.

no more co-mods.
They steal all my secrets.
Although I kind of like that last part. Do I do that? <scratches head, while secretly tittering>

he said an item told him that. I suspect it came from his behind.

it may have only been in PMs with me. maybe he didn't say it on the thread.

PM from DocE, the liar: "You are one of four wolves. Item said so."

understood, which is why I said that, while i don't entirely doubt that Samoa tried to recruit DPMD and failed (she seemed to have admitted to doing as much), doubt this is a slam dunk Samoa is bad type of thing, because no way SOV would give away that much information. I'm reminded of the Thomas Covenant game, where he told me where every single wolf was located, making me think i just got a slam dunk, grand slam, empty net goal... all to be killed off... but he couldn't just leave my torture there... he decided to lead me on to believe that i could be revived and still share the wonder of my mass knowledge, secretly giggling inside knowing that there was no way for me to be revived as a villager.

unlynch samoa

Awwww. SOV apparently enjoyed torturing the both of us that game.

Reading all these messages about myself posted today….

I am starting to think y'all believe I am an evil, sadistic, deceitful mod who makes the anti-christ look like an angel.
My little heart is hurt.

Your mechanics can be cruel (you taught me that my first game, remember 😉 ). But I think we all know you're warm and fuzzy otherwise. 🙂 Right? Warm and fuzzy?

you take pleasure in getting people engulfed and enthrawled in your stories, which is what it is suppose to be about. I prefer this style (which is shared by the uber mods like JDH, Nutmeg, DocE) over the more simplistic styles of non-ambigious results. But along with that anguish comes a bit of sadism, which you can't shy away from.

The response i got from my first modding game was that... not nearly as much so in my last 2, and i dunno if I will be able to recapture that first game's magic where everyone was frustrated yet still wanting, no needing, to know what was going to happen next. You have a reputation of building that level of suspense, so own it!

Can i haz item now?

again. what? You assume I'd tell a suspected wolf exactly how I got my info?
I would love to edit in this sentence, but i guess I'll just quote myself: some things are said in PM because I dont need them spread on the thead, they serve their purpose beter 1-on-1. I can play games with the how and why on PMs if I dont trust the person. Those same things when said on the thread I purposely ignore to try to minimize how much they are on the thread. But yea. Thanks for bringing that back up.

Liars are generally wolves. And my name wasn't in red, so I'm not a wolf. So try to be correct next time. And has your stupid move to wait until as close to deadline as possible ever netted you anything? It sure didn't in this case. This is case in point why people don't like your style.

Got me two wolves directyl from that last time I did it, three if you count someone who was on the list and was an original wolf found rounds later IIRC as to who was original and who was convert. Didnt even mean to do it near the deadline this time. Just didnt realize when deadline was. And, sadly, we have no proof youre not a wolf *this time*

<poops in your cheerios>

Fine, seer me again. Nothing changed with me or my role or my affiliation, only that I am not partnered with a liar this time.
