Okay, so when you got your first PM before the game's official role PMs went out, you were given 3 roles to choose from them. One of them, you discarded (hirsute).

Then there were 2 left. One of which you used for affiliation. The other you used for ability.

Did you go through this process, or did you not do that?
If you didn't, yours may have randed from your options, which might explain your confusion a little.

Affiliation is which faction you're aligned with. For example, if village fruit vendor is your affiliation, you'd be aligned with village. If you were wolf fruit vendor, you'd be aligned with the wolves.

Ability is your night action. If you claimed fruit vendor as your ability, you'd be able to give out fruits, but it says nothing about your affiliation

No i did this! And thats where i picked village fruit cause fruiting sounded fun (although i cannot specify the fruits i give alas) and i dont think i would be a good/sneaky wolf

As mentioned, fruit vendors can be mafia or town.
And as Dubz pointed out, shorty asked for affiliation, not role.

You receive three role options

One, you discard. It has no bearing on your role in this game.

One, you use for affiliation. You keep the affiliation of this role, but NOT the ability. E.g. if the role you use for affiliation is town doctor, you will be town.

The other, you use for ability. You keep the ABILITY of this role, but not the affiliation. E.g. if the role you use for ability is mafia seer, you will be a seer.

Through this process you would become town seer.

Town Bloodhound for example is essentially just a seer, and I wanted to make sure it we were specifically talking about "Town Seer" or if it was something like Town Bloodhound being casually relabeled as "Town Seer", since it is essentially just a Seer

So here's my issue with that.

Prior to asking that question, you could have looked it up on the list to see if "town seer" itself was a role (spoiler alert: it is). If it wasn't on the list, then your question would be a lot more reasonable. However, SAR is not a new player or someone likely to misunderstand what the exercise was asking, and you know that. So to me, it looks like you were asking a question to look like you were asking a question, not because you genuinely were curious about it.

Which is also the second time this game where you did something related to a role where if you'd bothered to check it, you would have either had the answer or known that you were answering someone incorrectly/misleadingly (which was the case with your saying "indeed" to Spurs saying aren't those 2 roles).
