Can you talk to me about this? Like, are you saying that based on this discussion you're actively town-reading samac? Or just that there isn't a smoking gun that it seemed like some people thought there was for a minute?

I'll be honest... I'm generally not following a lot of the affiliation discussion. Though it could be interesting to look back on later once we have more mechanical information.

because i thought we take one part of one role for affiliation and mash it with another part of another role for ability

so i think the possibilities are endless?

I laid out my thoughts earlier in the day in my reads list, and as of now I'm not planning to move off my Zenge vote.

@apoptosis09 please explain your zenge read to me. What made you intially place a vote there? You also seem somewhat contradictory to me. You vote zenge, then follow up with acknowledging that by doing so you have formed a wagon (though I disagree). You also say that its not a wagon if you're right, so at that time, you're assured in your read of zenge. Then, you unyeet zenge without providing a reasoning that you're reading him as town and instead do so because you didn't want a wagon to form, even though you had already previously acknowledged that by voting zenge in the first place you were starting a wago. In your unyeet post, you are still saying he gives you wolfy vibes. Then in your long reads post, Zenge is the only player that you mark as W, and not NW or something else.

All this to say, it is reading to me as a light bus attempt on a scum partner. In addition, as a wolf I have made a full reads list of everything. While I appreciate your attempt to communicate your thoughts on everyone, I agree with shorty that it overall only gave reads of 2 people.

In the context of everything else, I also didn't love the post where you jokingly said you would jump to fruit simply because I gave a negative read. Its giving "how can i slyly jump off of my scum partner's vote"

I could be wrong about all of the above but this is the most I've gotten so far.

I'm almost sure I've been a D1 yeet target and its no fun. I can empathize that you were the D1 target last game. However, I was not part of this game and I have not played with you.

I think you're bouncing off my play style a bunch. Which is fine, pretty much everyone scum reads me on the first game, esp the first day. It takes a few village flips before people get the hang of me. I am almost always on the board d1 despite never playing wolf.

Basically I think zenge is a good vote; at least better than random which is not bad on d1. but I didn't want an early wagon to start and prevent any other solving, which ime has happened a few times.

I really don't think you're framing this correctly. "Backtracking after throwing a bunch of names on the board" isn't really what I would describe this sequence as. It reads like someone generally evaluating as the game progresses, not going "whoops put to many people in the sus pile, gotta backtrack and hope they don't catch me slippin'!"

I'm not putting in a vote tonight bc I have too much to do BUT I will for sure ASAP tomorrow. I am planning on voting for someone in rae, clem, CG, genny, kitz, Dubz, samac, zenge, Spurs, or fruit for courtesy reasons. We'll see who becomes the most sus.
(TBH, CG or Spurs are appealing to me bc if they had the choice between village or scum I believe they absolutely would have chosen scum...)

Some morning thoughts b4 I have to leave for school: I'm taking fruit and Clem off of today's yeet list bc I really don't think either of them is scum currently.
Kitz and rae both have my interest atm - kitz bc of her reaction to shorty's aff exercise (I don't know if that was confusion or slight scum panic). Rae because I'm mildly suspicious of her claim that she used vanillager for aff. This may be a "beans not understanding CYO strategy" thing so if it is feel free to smack me but literally so many people have either discarded vanillager OR claimed to use it as aff - how likely is it that that many players were offered it as a role?

I'm willing to give kitz and rae the benefit of the doubt for now. Other than what I previously mentioned, neither of them have done anything particularly scummy. Spurs feels okay? I think I've shrunk my pool down to the following (mostly because I don't think I can say that any of these people have done something to make me certain they're village):
CG, genny, Dubz, samac, zenge

I backtracked on kitz and rae because I don't think my reasoning is good enough to yeet them at this point. (Rae especially - my sus mostly came from not realizing that there can in fact be 12 randed vanillagers in this game which other people have since explained to me )

My initial list wasn't wolfreads. I was trying to follow the courtesy rules dubz mentioned in the sign up thread - the not yeeting mods/players who were D1 last time/players back from a hiatus thing. So the list I made were players I would be picking between for my yeet that followed the courtesy rules. I mentioned being unsure about kitz and rae, yes, but changed my mind about them after other information was presented.

I think my unease is more that 2 people who I would not consider historically shining beacons of towniness seem to be (very early and admittedly with most of the game not commenting specifically on this) consensus town, but I also am reading them both that way.

I'm just trying to decide what that means to me when it comes to other people coming to those reads.
