Class of 2017.... how you doin?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Two midterms next week...I'm so not ready for that yet.

Class cancelled tomorrow for the "winter storm". Excited for day off, not so excited about when the makeup classes will be. But, meh, nothing I can do about it.

Hijack - I'm always kind of amazed when schools pre-emptively cancel school the day before a storm. I've never had this happen. Even when calling for blizzard conditions the day before. A storm can be barrelling up the eastern seaboard laying waste to everything, but nothing gets cancelled the day before; ie - if the storm is supposed to hit on Tuesday, they don't announce it on Monday that Tuesday will be closed. It's always just "Well, let's just wait until Tuesday morning at 6 am and see what's happening then."

I got unreasonably excited about this until I realized you were responding to tropic's post above. Never mind the fact that it's raining here and no storm is expected...sigh...a girl can dream right?

7am exams are rude. Especially when you have to walk to class in 4*F weather.

We're having a second snow day (although it hasn't actually started snowing yet). I'm kind of glad about it since I missed 2 days worth of immunology yesterday and we're having an exam on it on Thursday.

No school again at OSU too. 3rd "cold" day of the semester. Glad to have a day to sit here and marathon study but not excited that we have class until 4 on Friday to make up for missing anatomy lab...

Ewww. We're not making up any of our classes, I think. They're all being podcasted.

Its a nice 68 here. We are expecting rain tonight though. Im on my porch studying cardiology.

People keep saying we need to figure out how to do that. We're gonna have to make ours up.
They just started doing it like 2 years ago. We needed a way to teach lectures to 2 classes at the same time due to the semester conversion. And then teachers just started podcasting their lectures. It's worked out pretty well.

We record ours on panopto, but that only works if the teacher is in the classroom in the first place.

As of now, I think we're only making up anatomy lab, but they moved Clinical Med to the afternoon (2-4) so we'll still be there all day... Immuno is squeezing in an extra lecture during a lab. Haven't heard about my elective or Animal Pathogens yet...hopefully they'll be podcasted.

Usually they just cancel electives :/ Or try to squeeze them in during another class. Too much work to reschedule them, I think.

Class is canceled tomorrow, too...I kind of just want to get back to the normal routine. I'm not looking forward to seeing how they had to manipulate the schedule.

I love cardiology, our professor is amazing, the notes are perfectly organized, I have paid attention in every lecture. However the notes are extremely dense, we have covered so much and I heard she tests hard. Exam is 8am tomorrow. *curls in a ball*

im so envious of everyone having cold/snow days. Mizzou doesnt care how cold it is, or if there is 6 inches of snow on the ground, they will not cancel class. And @wildcatj , that walk is miserable. ugh. my hair was frozen when I got to the building this morning.

How the hell far do y'all have to walk from your cars? We park right outside, basically...

Not right in front of the vet school for first years at Mizzou (5+ minute walk if you get a crappy parking spot). The rest of us have a lot that is technically close to the vet school, but is still a 3-5 minute walk away because it's down a giant hill from the school.

Can it please be Friday afternoon already? I just want to study sporadically in between eating, sleeping and watching netflix already.

I'm not waiting for Friday, starting in t minus 3 hours after my histo practical. This block is irritating, we have had at least 3 exams a week starting the second week. Histo written yesterday, gi phys this morning, histo practical this afternoon. I just want to drink wine and watch TV, dammit!

Yep, spent last night studying for phys and patho quizes today, must get my reading on for anatomy test tomorrow, and really ought to try and start catching up on others that I've been ignoring for the past three weeks...

Not to mention we have 4 exams next week (2 of which are anatomy...) UGH I hate this block!! But it will get (slightly) better during Block 4. Immensely better in Block 5!

Okay the storm finally hit us last night. I had to slog from the parking garage to the testing center which is a good 10 minute walk in 30 degree weather. That is completely unacceptable Florida! Seeing as yesterday I was camped out on my porch.

OSCE #2 tomorrow......PEs, bandaging, injections, radiographs and tension suture patterns. :nailbiting:

Sent from my iPad using SDN Mobile

When it's 8:30 PM and you could slog through a bit more studying.. OR you could make yourself an old-fashioned and watch Netflix in bed! Guess which one I'm doing :smug:

Tomorrow will be the first day I'm going to school all week, and I have an exam AND the first meeting of the club I'm VP for. Just a little bit stressful...

It's only been a month and I already need a break. This block is just exhausting. 3+ exams EVERY week. I feel kind of guilty about spending the money, but I think I'm going to take a long weekend to go home in Feb. Just need to get out of here for a minute before finals.

Zero motivation tonight. Not even going to fight it.

My lack of commitment to this semester has finally caught up. I did much below average on the supposedly easiest test of comparative anatomy. Time to kick my myself into gear and remove my head from my arse.
So far I have posted a lot of funny gifs and drank four beers. Success.

Okay so I already despise repro. But we have had 6 different lecturers for the class to cover different things and different species. They all say different stuff, about estrus cycles and other things such as time of implantation. Supposedly we are supposed to know what number they want by who wrote the question. So I have to memorize two fing numbers that is complete BS. They want us to know all details of every freaking species. There is zero consistency across the lectures too.

Right now I am fuming. Apparently a lot of people failed last year and they had to curve the test. Its freaking repro it is not a hard subject. No one should fail repro unless the test is complete BS.

Oh and I do not want pictures of human breast on my slides. Nor do I need to see pictures of erect animal penises.

Edit: I literally just went to the next slide after typing this and they have a picture of a horse ejaculating. Seriously?!

I'm a terrible person because I just saw a friend on Facebook say she's "dropping a class because it's just too hard to juggle three" and thought "pansy".

I can NOT stand that. My friend tries to always out do me with how many papers he has to write.

I have an engineer friend (and trust me, I know that's hard) that was complaining about 16 credits. I was like "dude, I'm in 22 vet school credits. Don't come crying to me"
