Class of 2022...how you doin'?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
CONGRATS!!!! :soexcited: So happy for you 🙂 🙂 🙂 How's the cat?

Dude. I had to send in the decline yesterday and I died a little on the inside :dead: I've still got the little green stuff sack hanging behind my door +pity+

Hahaha, nah, you'd adapt! Although some days I really wish my horn button could shoot lasers! :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Don't even start with me. CSU had measured my jacket size and all that and I was looking at some of those Alaska working dog externships and then Penn called and ruined it all!! Rob was like, "Yo! You haven't accepted yet? Well damn, let's throw some $$ at the problem!" @raf2769 knows I struggled for a while, but like I said, if I could find a way to make sure Z was happy (live on some green space and access to hiking) then I'd do Penn! I suppose CO will have to wait for another day -- maybe residency?? 😉 You have your reasons for picking the school you did and it's done now and you'll make it work!

@StayingPositive2017 knows I like to say -- Welcome to the club! It's time to get yourself a t-shirt, don't look back, and live it up!! 😎😎😎 p.s. we can all always do a t-shirt swap party 😉

Currently walking around embracing that PennWe mentality like noone's business!! :hilarious:
Love your shirt! My CVM store was closed when I went out last because they were on spring break 🙁

My CSU bag is my work bag[emoji1]
I've barely used it and it's getting holes so not great quality but good enough for what I need.

I'm sure you can still do Alaska dog externships 4th year at Penn!

All things aside I'm happy with my decision. I really felt the mentality and feel of WSU was so different from CSU it really was a night and day difference in my decision. Plus a 60K difference between tuition and COL made it a no brainer for me. Plus there's more cow opportunities sooner at WSU I'm so excited [emoji16]

Note to future self come read this during a stressful week lol

Thanks! It's the only t-shirt that the bookstore carries as everything else comes from the clubs, and I must say, I'm trying really hard not to wear it every other day.... haha, please tell me there are other V'22ers out there who are like me?? Or am I the only one who's nuts :hilarious:

Also, hello?!?! Brand new place and lots of space for that 3 seater!! Hahaha, I remember when we became friends and I said, are you crazy? You live in CO and you're not going?!?! Goodness, I was ready to become a crunchy, subaru driving, granola eater, legooo!!! Lookin' at all those buzzfeeds of attractive people and their dogs climbing all the 14ers, hah!

Also, when you guys say no to other schools, tell 'em you got into other places -- I practically harassed Tufts about scholarship money and no response for a few weeks. I was about to pull a Ski and be like: RUDE! Finally just sent in my decline... get an e-mail saying: Ho ho ho! We didn't have time to process your paperwork, can we offer you xx$$ to change your mind?! I should respond and be like, "bought the t-shirt, lady, we ain't goin' back!" Also, AYFKM? I just signed a lease in Philly. No.

Lucky for you, they have an online store!!!

@greeneyegal92 and @MixedAnimals77 ya heard? Gonna need to see some pics of t-shirts asap!

Does a bumper sticker count?
Here's my hike loving, crunchy Subaru

Ha. No I was super mad at CSU. Like they didn't even have a survey to be like why aren't you coming here like other schools did. One of the many reasons why it wasn't the school for me.

I chose Minnesota too 🙂) Definitely wasnt an easy decision!!

Just shared my stats on Accepted Applicant stats with my decision as I always dreamed of doing! I chose Minnesota, but trust me toughest decision of my life!! Thought I was heading toward mental break down just making a decision 🤣[/QUOT

Hahahaha love it!!!! :biglove:

Look at us all excited... all the V'21's are like... just wait till first week of school -- you aren't even gonna know what hit you :hilarious:
Actually we are sucking up all of the residual happiness and excitement you throw around with abandon trying to limp toward summer. I'm happy you're happy, don't be stressed about what hasn't happened yet!

Friendly reminder that people of all schools are on these forums. So it might be best to avoid seriously **** posting a school that another person holds dear to their heart. 😍

Positive example of poking fun of a school: I give @Coopah a lot of crap for her anatomy practicals being multiple choice. Or I poke fun of Ohio/ Oregon because we all know Oklahoma is the TRUE OSU. 😉

Carry on! Yay for acceptances and merchandise and for the waitlist moving soon!

I'll have you know that our neuroanatomy exam was just blank with little lines to write things on :rage:... it was horrible :scared:

😛😛😛

oh the horror!
Ugh it was. One of our professors insists on marking structures on a picture with smiley faces... that happen to block the entire structure we are trying to identify. Neuro is by far the hardest block we've had. I'm told it gets much easier from here, oh but GI sucks too (the only other class we have this year). And next year everything is a mess. But yeah it gets sooo much better 🙄

Nerves are crazy, right? I’m having to review all the nerves for comparative anatomy, and then I’m doing a canine limb amputation wet lab in a couple weeks so I’m reviewing everything in a dog as well. It’s mindboggling how all the nerves in a dog are all tiny and frustrating and then the sciatic is a freaking milkshake straw!!

That was legitimately the only nerve I found dissecting my dog! My group mates found others but that one was mine . Apparently I did a good enough job that they put it on our test! I might have gotten that question wrong because it was weird, something like what does this structure NOT innervate? And my only thought was "Holy crap this is my dog, how did my dog get here? Wait what was the question?" Buzzz next station :smack:

How easy the sciatic n is to find is simultaneously relaxing and vexing. It's like an empty firehose, it should be a little more hidden so it's not so damned easy to poke things into. 😛

Agree completely but it makes it nice for amputations because it’s so easy to find it, turn it off, and cut it away!

I literally just thought I graduated high school in 2015....I'm too young to be lying about my age already that's my COLLEGE graduation year :smack:

You're still young! I graduated high school in 2014...college in 2017... I feel like a baby-I feel there alot of non trads in 2022

Oh hey I’m the same way. I’m 21. Graduated HS in 2014, college in 2017, and I’m almost 25% a doctor. :ninja: Being one of the youngest is weird...

‘Twas a joke, staffy 😉
Graduating in 2002 isn’t old but graduating in 202 is.

Also, 2010 has two zeroes 😛
Can't be too sure with you sometimes! Better to play it safe than assume you were joking 😉😉😉

Me, every time my dog was on an exam.
I remember people in my class got upset because there was a pregnant uterus on one of the exams, I think the question was just identifying the uterine horn, but it threw everyone off that hadn't looked at either of the two pregnant dogs, one of which belonged to my group! Mwahahaha...

I feel like this wouldn't have been an issue in my class just because every time there was something even slightly interesting, they called us all to gather round whoever's dog it was. 😛

I always made my lab group walk around with me and do "dog tours" of everyone else's dogs. It was mostly when we were all frustrated and super done with mucking around with dissection and wanted to go bother someone else

Since we're throwing age out there 😛 I'm 21, will turn 22 in the first semester of vet school (late birthday ughhh), I graduated high school in 2014 and am graduating undergrad in May of this year (2018 for those of us that live under rocks) :hello:

I don't remember when I graduated high school. I don't remember when I graduated undergrad. I barely remember what year I'm supposed to graduate vet school and today I forgot how old I am and my guess was off by more than two years (yes, I had to check my driver's license for a second).

I don't know what this post is about. A PSA about your brain on vet school, perhaps?

Also, this isn't even my damned class thread. :hilarious: Somebody help me! :drowning:
