Cornell c/o 2021 Applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Does everyone have the "enrollment deposit" line on their portal?

I don't 🙁. I'm sure it definitely means something that some of us don't and some do . Crossing my fingers for those that do though!!!! Possible acceptanceeeee

I don't 🙁 congrats to those that do though - it's definitely not a coincidence. I just find it odd since they're closed today.

Ugh, really regretting just checking SDN because now I'm freaking out that I don't have it lol

Same haha. Just keeping myself going by thinking that maybe they don't update the portals all at once. Plus we won't really know until tomorrow when the calls go out. Good luck!

Yeah I'm betting it means I didn't get in :\

I guess we will probably all find out one way or the other tomorrow (and always the possibility of getting on the waitlist).

Is everyone who sees the enrollment deposit IS? Or is it a mix of both IS and OOS? Maybe they only updated for one group so far...? Idk I am just trying to hold out hope lol

OOS completely, not even close to NY

I'm OOS and its there, will see what it means. I don't remember seeing it last time I applied but I was wait listed then, so maybe I'm just forgetting?

I'm OOS and I have it as well but I noticed it a while back. At least 3-4 days ago it was there. Didn't think anything of it then.

Yeah I'm not seeing it either. I'm in state.

So we know for sure calls are going out tomorrow?

Nope its just a very well educated guess, at least on my part. Since it's the first day the school will be open again. But odds are that most likely they will be tomorrow or wednesday.

I don't see that deposit thing on my tracking page so probably a rejection 🙁. Does anyone know if Cornell does a file review? And congrats to the possible acceptances for people 🙂

Cornell does do file reviews for students who were rejected. I'm not sure when these occur and whether it's in person or over the phone though.

I'll try and find an answer for you guys about the enrollment deposit link and if it means anything. It strikes me that even if it's related to acceptances, people without the link might still be alternates.

Can any current Cornell students share why they picked Cornell and why they love it (or don't)? I have so many interviews planned and am trying to narrow it down some. Not sure if I have been accepted but want to get a better idea if I can.

Could you ask her about the enrollment deposit thing! Does it mean anything?
She says she didn't look at her tracking page but she 's going to say that's a good sign. I guess we're all still unsure if that means anything!

Thanks! I guess there's nothing to do now except sit back, drink a few beers and wait.

Hey! I logged on to the tracking page and saw the enrollment deposit line, but I just logged on again and now it's gone. Has that happened to anyone else?

Yep, and the GRE scores moved back to the right. Oh my.

They probably took it down since they heard of us all freaking out over it lol

My thoughts exactly. I sure hope they call soon. Now I can't bear the wait LOL 🙂.
And I will be on a plane all day Wednesday. I just hope they call tomorrow (or leave a message). Or that they email soon!

So now I don't see the "enrollment deposit" anymore... this is weird. Anyone else that saw it before too want to check and make me feel not so crazy?

It used to be there for me, too. Now it's gone.

anyone know if this leak has happened before because I didn't get to check but really don't want that to be the end of it

I haven't ever heard of this happening before on previous threads, but who knows... I am trying to grasp to some hope that some people who did get accepted just didn't get an updated portal. It is probably a long shot, but one can dream haha

They could have just been testing the system and selected random people. We really don't know 🙂.

I picked Cornell because of the Problem Based Learning curriculum (PBL) and I absolutely loved it (sadly just finished my last PBL course this past semester 🙁). It takes some getting used to, and I think that was a very hard adjustment for most students. We're hoping they'll add a PBL crash-course during orientation week one of these years...

Despite the whole portal leak thing today, just wanted to wish everyone on here the best of luck tomorrow (and possibly Wednesday if they do 2 days of calls)! Whoever didn't get the portal update, don't lose hope because there's no way for us to know what exactly it meant 🙂

What was hard about it? I have done some courses where we basically teach ourselves and with a good teacher and structure I know it works well... is it structured in any way? Do you have any "normal" lectures?
