Did you log in to your application account? I do not see a change in mine :-/

Sorry you didn't make it, I got a few rejections already, so I know it hurts. Good luck!

@Sevenunicorns I did. It stated there was an updated status. I clicked on it and it takes you the posting. Got two other rejections and yea it does hurt, but we have to keep going! Good luck to you as well.

Hi all, I'm new around here. I got a rejection from Colorado today as well. Waiting on a few more schools, Good luck to everyone else!

I don't see any update and I applied to the UAF program. I know 1 person got a call that theh were in to that program.

I was Returned to Pool and I have a cumulative GPA of 3.1. Good luck to everyone!
So returned to pool means you are still in the running, correct?
Is your 3.1 your overall GPA or science GPA?
Are you OOS?
Sorry for all the questions LOL, just nervous that I won't get accepted anywhere

Yep, still in the running. The 3.1 is my overall GPA, and I'm fairly average in the rest of my application. I'm IS

Oh ok... I'm 3.5 OOS so I'm really scared. Not a great GPA for OOS applications and my IS (UF) is not easy to get into either.

3.5 is a good GPA, and if you're strong elsewhere on your application then you'll have a good chance of getting in somewhere. If not, there's always next year! (Can you tell I'm not the stress-over-it type, haha)

I was also "Retuned to the pool." Super excited after recently being rejected by 2 schools already. My cum GPA is 3.3 and Science GPA around a 3.1 depending on how they calculated it. This is a huge relief considering my Freshman year arrest for underage drinking and my low GPAs... I guess my extracurriculars/experiences and improvements starting Junior really paid off

Thank you 🙂 well I already received 4 rejections this cycle (applied to 9 schools), and so far no invites or anything else positive, that's why I'm a bit pessimistic when it comes to my 5 pending schools.

I'm guessing Colorado is your IS?!

Did you receive an email saying that your status changed? I didn't receive anything and the online account is still unchanged.

This is the huge advantage of applying to CSU. They look at your GPA in trends, meaning they look to see how it has changed over time. So if you had a rough start, but really pulled yourself up by your bootstraps and showed major improvement over time, you look really good to them. 🙂. That was my problem. I started out very strong, but hit a rough patch that I am still repairing Junior year.

No, Colorado is not my IS.

I didn't receive and email, but my status is changed in the portal. Stay positive! 😀

I know, but I'm freaking out... Especially after being rejected by half of my schools and no interview invite 🙁
*hugs* it's always possible the other half will bring good news! Don't lose hope - it's far from over. Maybe try to distance yourself from it for a few days, do something you enjoy, remind yourself why you're an awesome candidate!

Wait, I just checked my application status and I don't see any change. Unless I'm looking at the wrong page? I'm OOS and have a 3.95 GPA, in case that makes a difference.

I believe the status change is only for people who have a GPA of 3.4 or less (maybe for the dual program too?). They're letting people know if they made it through Phase II if they had a GPA of 3.4 or less. If you have above a 3.4, then you automatically passed Phase II, so look out for an admissions email in late December!

What is considered a down trend? I have majority 3.7-4.0 semesters with like one 3.4 and two 3.2 randomly in there...

Where/how did you find this out?

I did a file review in July with Dr. Hardy. She showed me how the application looks and the committee doesn't see your overall GPA (cumulative or science). They just see the individual semester GPAs.

I think you're hunky dorey. When I say downward trend, I will use me as an example. 3.5 freshman year, 3.6 sophomore year, 3.25 junior year, 3.0 senior year. Significant drop without rebound. That's why I said that if you start out crummy, it actually works in your favor because you can then show an upward trend.

I've been "returned to pool" as well. I think my cGPA between undergrad and grad was somewhere around 3.37 and I'm non-sponsored, OOS.

I'm curious, though, how many applicants do they usually eliminate when looking at those with below a 3.4 cumulative GPA? Do they publish that kind of information anywhere?

Meet you both there! So excited!! Although January seems to be the worst possible month to visit CO for the first time...

Fort Collins actually wasn't too bad in January. Or at least coming from the east coast last year, when we were in the middle of a super cold spell. Really sunny and dry here, but I would bring a coat and boots just in case it gets cold. And the downtown is so pretty in the winter, they put lots of lights on the trees. You'll have a blast here! 🙂

Also if anyone is wondering, the rejections came this time last year, and I think acceptances/waitlists came out on the 20th. My status didn't update until the 20th for the vet school.

I got rejected on the 21st last year. lol. Thank you, CSU, for that Christmas present.

I guess my point is that just because you made it past this point, doesn't necessarily you can breathe easy. Not trying to be a debby downer, but I hate to see a bunch of people think, "yeah, home free!" too, and then get their rejection later.

I totally agree. Now we're just in the pool with the big dogs, haha.

My application status doesn't say anything under "Recent Activities." In fact, it doesn't say anything at all. I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet. Does this look like I am not a first-choice candidate? I have no idea!

You could email them and say your portal has not been updating, ask if it could be fixed.

Okay, I will do that. I really want to get into CSU. I have applied to four schools and have only heard back from one (wait-listed for an interview). It is that time of the year to stalk the postman and check your email 20 times a day.

So did your portal end up changing?
I just sent the admissions office an email about it. I have a GPA of 3.59 so I am sure something would have shown up by now. I will keep you posted.🙂

If your GPA is above a 3.4 I don't believe the portal will change based on the end of phase 2 (myself and a few friends are in this situation and nothing has changed on any of our portals). I think at this point if you had above the 3.4 cutoff nothing will change until phase 3 decisions start coming in (this is our best guess though).

That means.... I am STILL IN IT!!!! Hurray!

Yeah, totally agree... Not trying to get my hopes up too much. Still glad I didn't get a flat-out rejection like I did with my other 4 schools LOL

All it takes is for one school to give you a chance. 🙂. I got outright rejected by 4 schools last year as well, but Kansas gave me an interview and a waitlist spot (making them my obvious favorite out of state lol). Hope is always a beautiful thing, as long as their is some realism in there.

I applied to Kansas, too!!!
Definitely one of my top-fav for OOS 🙂 thanks for the pep-talk, really need it. 2 finals tomorrow back-to-back
