CSU c/o 2020 applicants, y'all ready for this?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Also, on mine it says: OFFICIAL GRE SCORES: We have downloaded and recorded official GRE scores as received (green check mark) as of OCT 15. If your Checklist is showing a red X, there is still time to resend your official scores (code 4075).

Oh heyyyy!!!! So does mine, I just checked. GRE is in. Just waiting on VMCAS. Thanks @Koala1010 🙂

Mine still shows the red X. I just checked the email receipt I got from ETS and it was the correct code I sent them to and all the other schools have them marked as received.... Ugh.

Yeah same here....and to resend it's going to cost us money..not cool. I'm going to wait a day or two before I resend mine, maybe they will find them, lol.

Well, mine changed between yesterday and today, maybe they are in the midst of updates?

I am going to email them and double check that they are in fact missing. I have the email receipt and the confirmation number, so hopefully I can get ETS to resend them without having to pay.

Is there a certain person that is best to email at CSU? Does anyone know? Or is it better to just email the dvmadmissions email address?

Janet will tell you to use the dvmadmissions address normally.

My GRE status changed too! Last time I checked was a few days ago and now the GRE is marked received as of today the 19th.

Have the green check mark! However, I think it is absolutely ridiculous that CSU hasn't started accumulating the VMCAS apps yet. I would have downloaded them every two weeks as they were verified. We all know there were the few hard core people that were submitted and verified by June. Why not take care of those people, I don't know, in June?! That would have made the most sense to me.

I think they are afraid that then we would expect rolling admissions versus their "look at the pool" approach.

I can see that, but then they can just tell us at the end of the CSA, "Admissions decisions will be released in December," just like they do anyways. Even if they collect information like a rolling admissions school, doesn't mean they have to accept/deny/waitlist people like one. And we might get the information sooner anyways because they would be handling 1000 apps over 6 months instead of 2 months.

So my hopes to get some news mid-October are in flames:boom:sad...But as usual - no news is good news!

NOTE FOR COMBINED PROGRAM APPLICANTS:
Currently, we are still awaiting VMCAS Applications and therefore have not yet started Combined Program Reviews. Please know we expect to begin these reviews in mid-November and to release Combined Program decisions late November/early December

This made me smile. I worked as a lifty at Winter Park few years ago and I definitely heard comments like this fairly often. I always wanted to tell those commenters to go and try to keep up with someone using a sit-ski... I sure as hell couldn't, their skills are on fire! 😀

Loved skiing Winter Park. Mary Jane side has some awesome trees.

@batsenecal Thank you! it is shamelessly stolen from the web! But as it is a perfect portrayal of my future, I decided to snatch it :pirate:

Erg!!!

Does this mean there is a change in when the rest of us will hear? I'm not near a computer to pull up my CSA and see what it says.

Oh, come on guys! I'm referring to being stuck in the endless loop of later. CSU pushing back the date and more waiting = Groundhog day. If you haven't seen it, please, please watch the awesome!

It is awesome!!! I was just saying it was 80 degrees where I'm at in north Western Nebraska on Saturday. Lol.

Ugghhhh....VMCAS... :grumpy:

Going to be following this thread. I'd like to apply to CSU when the time comes....

I really don't understand this...other schools have already received the VMCAS applications and are offering interviews already.

They have an option to get all the finished apps in a bundle. Apparently that's what they chose. It makes me wonder though, CSU doesn't care about the eLORs, so for those rare few students who didn't do them, is VMCAS smart enough to figure that out. I know both CSU and VMCAS said it would be fine, but sometimes I wonder.

Have any of you guys had to email CSU for any reason? I did email yesterday because my GRE score was still not recorded as received, but just curious how long people usually had to wait for a response? I'm trying to be patient, but I can't help but stress that my GRE isn't there when CSU is one of my top choices.

Same day response even near the deadline. I think I had to wait overnight once...

Got an email back, however it was one of the vaguest, least useful emails I have ever gotten. So I guess I will just resend scores to be safe.

Worries me about other schools (NCSU) that don't have tracking pages now. I know Cornell, Midwestern, Oklahoma, Missouri all got it, so it is kind of weird that CSU didn't when I sent them all at the same time.

It was the same for me. I took my GRE scores under a different name and the email said to call the office of admissions. Even then, the couldn't find my scores. All the other schools in applying to have received them! :/

Yeah mine still says not received and that I should resend....I think I will go ahead and resend instead of contacting them.

Currently on hold on the phone with ETS.... according to the person helping me, they don't have CSU on file to receive scores and 4075 is not a valid code to send GRE scores to. +pissed+

  • Code 4075 - Official GRE scores - Applicants should submit a request to their testing center, before September 15, 2015 to have official scores sent to CSU. Official scores should be received by November 30. In December, official scores will be used to verify all applicant self-reported/unofficial scores before offers are made.

I will try to look this up real quick, but I think I remember something to help you...

Nope sorry. This is my ETS receipt:

SCORE RECIPIENT(S)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Institution Name (Code): Colorado St U Ft Collins (4075)
Department Name (Code): Health and Medical Sciences - Veterinary Medicine (0617)

Are we supposed to use the department code? I didn't the first time since it didn't say anything about it on the CSU website.

They sent me THE most unhelpful email when I asked them if it would be possible to resend since CSU didn't receive the scores the first time. I hope your phone call goes better! I went ahead and paid to resend my scores last night.

I did too this morning. They didn't help me at all on the phone. Did you use just 4075 or did you use a department code too?

I did both because the dept. code (0617) is the same for all the other schools I sent a report to, and they all got the scores just fine. I really don't think the dept. code is the reason they didn't get mine. But who knows!

My portal now says mid-December for dual degree applicants. So I'm guessing that pushes things back for regular applicants too. 🙁 Thank you, VMCAS.

Yeah we ranted about this a little earlier on this page. Pain in the butt.

Well, no, unless I missed something this is a further delay. We were ranting above about a late Nov-early Dec projected date.

I don't understand what's taking VMCAS/CSU so long if all my other schools received my app. grrrr :arghh::grumpy:

If I'm understanding things correctly. CSU waits for all applications to be verified before they start looking at any of them.

See, I can't see this being VMCAS's fault entirely. Like you guys said, they don't get any of the applications until all of them are verified. But at the same time, I can't see VMCAS having more applications to verify unless they're still behind with those that did the elective course entry thingy.
