Hahaha! Sad thing is, I did give up on my dreams for a few years there. This is just my 2nd try. Try 1 was back in '06-'07!

So, I went back and pulled this vote for Alpha/Betas...not sure if it is of ANY use whatsoever, cuz obviously people we know for certain are NOT wolves (ie. the deceased whose roles have already been revealed) voted for people we know ARE wolves (like LMMS or Dyachei).

It is Valentine’s Day and are the members of the pack feeling loving? Well, they are certainly feeling schizophrenic as Squrrel’s Rule, Katie8, Chebanese, and LissaRae are potential maulees at one time or another. Ah, there is something almost poetic about trying to maul the Ghost of Lost Love on Valentine’s day… We at DNN aren’t sure whether it is a commentary on the death of love in our modern dog sanctuary, or counter revolt against the commercialism of the day, or just an ironic anomaly.



But alas, Saint Valentine would not have his day marred by bloodshed of his beloved voice, and like a miracle akin to the burning bush, The lovely Ghost was saved at the last minute and the packed turned on Chebanse. Let us examine the reasoning for mauling Chebanse……done. That didn’t take long. There was no doubt in anyone’s mind that if the deadline were extended another hour, it would be someone else facing down 17 angry dogs.



So Chebanse it is… The dogs all gathered round. Some whispering started. Chebanse has some secret power to avoid death. This would be a useless vote after all. Maybe even a pardon from the moderator to celebrate a night of love (fat chance!). Then again, Chebanse is a greyhound, and everyone knew the moderator has a soft spot for greyhounds and their little kin.

Does each group have a guard dog, and can the guard dogs only guard someone in their group? (if anyone can elaborate)

i don't know if each group does but im assuming yes...and i can only defend the sporting group. i cant defend other groups or at least i dont think so?
 
Wow. So much happened when I went back to work from my lunch break. Katie, so I could not get back on because I would have changed my vote. After reading back through the thread I believe your story. This game is so frustrating... especially when there is no clear answer.

To those dogs that are in a group with a leader. The leaders have a means of communicating between groups. I know that some dogs are still very unsure of who they can or can not trust, but try to trust us. If you have any information that can help the pack out then we can pass that information to other leaders and other dogs within the pack and get information traveling faster and without the wolves seeing it. Without help from the rest of the pack or your insight it is VERY hard to do anything and our means of communicating is really a waste. If you are a sniffer and feel you can trust your leader then let them know. The leaders will do the best they can to keep your identity a secret so that the wolves do not determine who you are. You just have to trust us otherwise it will be very hard to figure out who these wolve are. I know this seems weird and a couple of you have questioned my credibility but I was very forthcoming and honest with my role of killer puppy earlier.
 
Another disturbing night for the denizens of the forest sanctuary. Self-doubt was starting to creep in. Wasn't it obvious that Chebanse was not a wolf; Greyhounds are too sweet to be betray their own kind. Ah well, someone had to go. All the dogs spent the early night thinking about their recent successes and failures, trying to understand where they were going wrong. Really, the dogs own enemy was themselves. They were killing wolves nicely, there hadn't been a death from a wolf since two nights ago.. there wasn't much of a threat at night anymore, was there? . Many in the pack had concluded there was only one wolf left, and that wolf maybe was injured, so precautions this night were a little light.

That is the way it goes… let your guard down, and voila, there is confusion and chaos. The chaos started that night in the Hound group that was mourning the loss of one of their own. An attack in their midst, seemingly from out of the sky, fur was flying everywhere….No doubt there were injuries but the remaining living (and living/dead) members scattered everywhere. And then terror was everywhere. From comfort to calm in a few seconds.

During this chaotic spike, a lupine creature crawled through the muck and sprang on the littlest of the pack, the Toy Group. The toy group had been bravely defended in the past by its Guard dog, StormWater… but tonight, who is there to guard the guard dog. Sadly no one. The wolf caught StormWater by surprise, so intent on looking after the fellow toys, Stormwater never saw the attack coming, In a short and deadly fight, Stormwater lay dead on the ground.

But Stormwater's fate was not sealed. Quickly seeing what was happening, a vet's dog, sprang to action. Having seen the vet she lived with save dogs so many times, she knew exactly what to do (I will spare you the details)…. Needless to say, Stormwater owed new life to this kind and caring healer. But resuscitating a dog, is no easy work and rest was needed for them both.

As amazing as that "save" was, the night was not over. There was more terror to occur on this night of love. Another attack was launched towards the terrier group. Another cowardly attack at a dog large in heart and small in stature? Size matters not, because again, a tiny guard dog stood in the way of this attack. SquirrelsRule and Nordicat faced off against each other. A Boston Terrier vs Nordicat (whose genetic test just came back with Leonberger). It was a bloody battle between two well-matched dogs. Nordicat expected an easy victory over an unsuspecting victim, but instead was forced to face a battle-hardened veteran.

The outcome, which shocked everyone was as follows:

SquirrelsRule, the Boston Terrier and Guard dog of the Terrier dog died valiantly defending the group.
Nordicat, The Leonberger, and Killer dog from the Working group failed to complete an assassination and lay dead.

There are 15 players left.

Another interesting night with no good leads...

Considering it is only Tuesday and I have currently already logged 30 hours of work this week... I am going to bed early. I have my only day off this week tomorrow so I will be able to check in much more frequently.

I'm sorry I was after you, Nordicat, but I'm wondering if you came after our group on bad information from a fellow toy member. Don't know right now.

Secondly! I learned last night that WTF is not a wolf. ("The identity of your target (WTF) is: not a wolf." Reminds me of "you are NOT the father!" :laugh:) Don't know what else to go on, hopefully Nyanko will resurface today.
