I applied to IHS back in January and the interview/admissions decision happened pretty quickly. I’m having a hard time finding and connecting with past & current students in that program so I’m not able to recommend it just yet

Hey there, current DPMS student. Some of the masters programs such as IMS have a fairly similar curriculum as DPMS. We took a lot of classes with students from other masters programs within Drexel's graduate school However, they do have a few different classes we don't have to take. The biggest difference is that the other masters programs do not have conditional acceptance. They do however have guaranteed interviews.

No, not at all. I also received an acceptance to the MBS program beforeI was accepted to DPMS. Drexel sends your application to all the graduate schools so everyone has it. It DOES NOT mean you were rejected from DPMS. They actually held my acceptance until I heard back from DPMS.

Question if anyone knows the answer: Let's say we get into MBS (congrats btw @ejgoy!!), can you kind of follow the DPMS schedule, & study, test, & apply for the same track/year as DPMSers? Just weighing all my options.
P.S: My app is still complete & under review, I know for a fact I won't be in this first round of interviews, bc it was just complete. That being said, if your app was just complete in like March or even February, just chillaaax & wait a bit

Hello ! I am a current DPMS student. I'm not super sure of that answer, but MBS is a two year program and their first year has completely different classes/schedule than DPMS. The second year of MBS is what has classes more similar to DPMS. So I would doubt that would be possible. That being said, MBS has a guaranteed interview with Drexel barring a certain GPA so you definitely can still have a chance of attending Drexel's med school if one desires. I just believe it would be after the conclusion of the two year masters.

I interviewed this week after submitting my application on 02/13! They mentioned they should have decisions made for those that interviewed this week around the middle of May! Wishing everyone good luck!! I have my fingers crossed.

How was the interview and what was the interview process?
I just got an email to check the portal, unfortunately for me, it was a rejection. Good luck to the rest of y'all still waiting to hear back or for those of you who interviewed. Also, side note for those of you waiting...based on the trend in the thread it seems like those who are rejected get an email to check their portal and those who are accepted get a congratulatory email with interview dates. Maybe that can put some of you at ease.

Yeah, if you have any pointers or something that maybe caught you off guard, feel free to share! Or at least, how was the vibe of the interview? Like how was it organized and did it feel tense the entire time? I imagine that it was conducted with other people who were interviewing as well?
The interviews were held on zoom. When you get your interview invite , they ask you to email someone with your choice of an interview date and time from the listed interview slots. The night before, you receive the zoom link, along with the schedule for that day. It was very laid back and super informative. From my experience, Dr. Nuñez was INCREDIBLY nice and she encouraged the interviewees to ask questions. She gave us an overview of the history of Drexel and what is in sight for the future of DUCOM. My interviewer was sooo nice as well and very easy to talk to. Each interviewee is assigned an interviewer (whose name will be listed on your schedule that was sent the night before), and you will be assigned to a breakout room on zoom for your interview. When everyone rejoins the main room after the interviews, you are given a situational prompt with an ethics based scenario that you will have to write an essay on and will be required to send back to your zoom proctor. Following that is a Q&A with current DPMS and/or MS1 students!

Thank you for the feedback!! It's good to know that it doesn't feel like a life or death situation haha. I've definitely been in interviews where it's felt realllll tense and a little uncomfortable. And did it take the whole five hours?
the one-on-one interview takes about 30-45 min. I felt as though mine flew by quick so I’m guessing mine was closer to 30. They give you 30 min to write the ethics response and the proctor will typically give you a warning at 15 min left and 5 min left, no more than 500 words.
it actually did take the entire scheduled time, mostly because the interviewees were able to get a lot of their questions answered.

Help please. I am trying to complete the "Math/Science GPA Form" I took classes at two schools. One school gives normal A, B, C...etc grades. I included those with no problem. However, the other school gives numerical grades. The form doesn't let me add numerical grades and for some of courses I had 3.5/4. If put B+ it will show as 3.7 and if put it as B- it will show as 3.3

The interview went well! Although I was definitely nervous and intimidated, the faculty were all very compassionate and made me feel at ease. The interview day took up the entire 5 hours for me, but I had about an hour where I was waiting for my interviewer to be done with another applicant. As for the actual interview, I knew the pressure was on but I tried to be myself as much as possible and asked a lot of questions - which I think my interviewer appreciated. The interviewer asked me some academic/background questions, but I feel they were mostly interested with getting to know me and genuinely see if/why I am passionate about medicine.
Overall from the interview day, I got the feeling that the faculty in this program really care about the students and want to see them succeed. I appreciated that although an applicant's metrics and stats are employed to facilitate the admissions process and to see if they can handle the rigor of the program, they really seem to value the application holistically and thoroughly read all of the essays you submit.

I'd you attend their info session, you get a fee waiver. If you check on the Drexel website you can check when the next info session for the graduate programs are.

So reviewing an old DPMS thread, I’m a little worried that my DPMS essay missed the mark. I wrote about why I’m an appropriate applicant/how I’m disadvantaged, but not why DPMS. My personal statement also doesn't address Drexel in particular. Thoughts?

But I actually noticed conflicting prompts for 'Personal Statement' on their website vs. the application portal.
But after reviewing this year and last year's threads. it appears everyone just used regular Med School Personal Statement for DPMS Personal Statement and then DPMS for Disadvantage + why DPMS + Drexel.

Bump. How long has it normally taken some of you to get a response back via email.
I emailed them about this (I know it's only been 2-3 business day) as well as also sent them another email over the weekend with regards to a transcript discrepancy but I still have yet to get a response.
I just want to make sure everything is marked complete by deadline 😵

what email address are you sending your message to? I sent a message to the CoM_Medical email and received a response within hours, but also emailed Steve Rogers and received an out of office auto response. They have periodic live chats with graduate admissions officers who may be able to help you as well.

My application was submitted 3/3/2020 and I received my interview invite on 4/15/2020. I interviewed yesterday, 4/27/2020. The day wasn't too bad and was very informative. The admissions counselor that was hosting was upbeat and made things pretty chill. She gave an overview of the program and then there was a discussion with Dr. Nunez, the program director, who went a little more in depth about the program and its design/goals. After that there was a Q&A with some current DPMS students who were very nice and helpful. The last part was the interviews. Personally I thought mine went okay, the interviewer was pretty stoic and asked his questions in a rapid-fire kind of way (my interview only ran about 20 minutes), but he was low-key funny too. And the admissions counselor said that most people tend to leave his room feeling pretty unsure about how things went.
Overall it wasn't a bad experience though.
