I specifically said "understand their own reasons for applying to such a program", as in if you're in a position where you believe you are a good candidate for applying, you should know exactly why you want to apply. If you are unsure about certain aspects of the program, google is your best friend. The Harvard-MIT HST program has their own website with tons of information. In any case, yes, I do admit that my post was undeserved. I don't know what "high horse" you're talking about, though. Nowhere in my post did I mention anything about me.
