I'm having issues making my rank list. I'm not limited by location and it is really important for me to work with a low income population. I'm considering a fellowship ID or Heme/Onc. I'd appreciate any help I can get!

BU = optimal place for dealing with low income patients, great fellowship placement (can't imagine ID or heme/onc being out of the question if you want it). Northwestern would be on the opposite side of the pt population spectrum. Loyola and Tufts have a questionable reputation in terms of reports of malignancy, however between the two (Tufts >> Loyola). I know nothing about the Cali programs and little about GW. Hope this gives you some perspective (which you probably already had).

Between Harbor-UCLA (county) and Cedars Sinai, there's a pretty big comparison in patient population (very similar to NW and BU). Cedars is a private hospital next to Beverly Hills, and Harbor is in Torrance. You work harder at Harbor, but come out with great clinical training and can have all the autonomy that you want. Of course the setbacks of being at a county hospital are present (but I think it's the best run county hospital in LA). At Cedars you also see some of the underserved and uninsured (they can't turn people away), but the attitude and feel are different. For the reasons that you're seeking , I would think Harbor is a better fit than Cedars in Cali.
