It was an awesome game to watch, even though I was killed early! 😀😀 Thanks, LIS and DVM.

I KNEW there was someone in it to win it for themself!

Awesome game LIS and DVMD. The wolves made it farther than I thought we would. 😀

o Dogs, III. The wolves had the ability to kill/remove 4 dogs/day, split however they want. They appear to have focused on the voting aspect and not on the scratching aspect (I thought <somebody> would consider the fact that you need to have a minimum number of dogs.).... so they did not use them to get villagers removed from the game like they could have. I probably should have made it clear in the rules that you had to maintain 6+ dogs. I thought people would figure it out, but I guess not.

We did finally guess that players would 'die' if they went under a certain number of dogs, but it was a little too late. We then needed those few people for suspicion. 😉 We were assuming 2 or 4 dogs.

I can't believe we forgot to send in dog deaths that night. Was it more than just that 1 night, a couple nights ago?

And Nyanko, would you die already?! Please?! You were so aggravating.

I can't believe we forgot to send in dog deaths that night. Was it more than just that 1 night, a couple nights ago?

We did not receive any dog deaths from the wolves for multiple nights in a row recently... we even very gently reminded the wolves of such and still did not receive any... there was a point about 2 nights ago where the wolves could have taken out 2 villagers had they just killed their dogs along with taking out another one for a normal kill, but they did not do so.

i'm sad my last item didn't happen.🙁

Yeah...vetgirl sabotaged you in that same night... Otherwise, your item came through before FFM's. I was even thinking about how we should work that out since SOV technically still had a role in death, wasn't sure if that would have been fair or not, but it would have been hilarious to have SOV hooked up all Frankenstein-like.

Welp. That would have been like 1000:1 odds getting her lynched lol

*shrug*

I suppose I could have pre-planned her relative 'power', or I could have just given her a more typical X % chance to avoid death, or made her vulnerable at a higher number, or ... etc.

But I liked the random factor and went with it. I kinda like it when even the mods don't have any idea what's going to happen. So yeah, in retrospect there weren't many chances to kill her off - but that's retrospective. There was no way to know that beforehand. She could just as easily have been vulnerable every night after you were converted. *shrug* Just the way the dice went.

The night with only a kill item, I submitted at 6:01, but someone beat me to it. I wanted to kill Hedgie by dropping a manatee on her from a helicopter.

o Player-driven objects. It was .. interesting. The favorite item was self-protective. MANY people submitted objects like that night after night. I really thought there would be more investigation, but I rarely had to not allow investigation because few people tried it. I thought I'd get a variety: from direct investigation, to alignment investigation, to "is there evil in cohort 2", etc.... but really we didn't get too much.

o In combo with player-driven objects, I thought the villagers would make better use of having a mayor who could communicate with each cohort. It would have been relatively straightforward for the villagers to assign out duties to each cohort: your cohort investigate, your cohort protect, etc. That would have made villagers more efficient. And since essentially anybody could be a seer on any night, there was little reason to hide the results of investigation. But people kinda stuck with the usual approach.

I don't know about other people but I was actually trying pretty hard to be realistic with items which is why I could not really come up with a lot of good ways to investigate or resurrect anyone.

edit: I also think that mods (and maybe I will be guilty of this as well, it's something to consider) way overestimate how much people communicate with each other during these games. I am inherently distrustful of everyone and rarely communicate with people in my group so I'm often pretty far 'out of the loop' until fairly late in the game once I've actually kind of figured things out. I also had no idea that the mayor could communicate with each cohort.

And I'd think you'd want to hide the results of investigations because with no real "seer" to have to go after the wolves can really just pick off whoever is cleared as innocent. That'd be a pretty good wolf strategy in a game like this IMO, at least at the beginning.

Very innovative game..... too bad I couldn't actually really play......

and I could heal dogs... you feckers.....

Oh and wolves - you are all on my ****e list.... remember that.....

I think yer right regarding private communication. I thought that in this game the villagers would have more incentive to communicate publicly, since there's no real 'risk' to revealing anything they were able to accomplish (i.e. minimal valuable 'roles', making no one villager much more valuable than any other). Maybe it was out of fear of wolves killing people cleared; hard to say. I don't necessarily go after 'cleared' players as a wolf - I'm more interested in going after people I see as likely to figure out I'm a wolf first, important role players second, and maybe cleared players as a distant third.

It's also worth considering that maybe in the big picture villagers would do better if they made an intentional choice to communicate and be less distrustful for no reason other than "I don't know if you're a villager or wolf." Sure, it'd end up with them being stabbed in the back sometimes. But more often than not (just from a numbers perspective) they're going to be talking to another villager and establishing a useful trust relationship.

Dunno. I'm no master strategist.

Same. I feel like I played really badly this game, between not being around very much and not sending any creative PMs. It was really amusing to read others' contributions, though!

so you still belong on my ****e list......

pretty sure that the wolves didn't kill you the second time... either WTF or an item, but I could be wrong.

I enjoyed being given the opportunity to play as a ghost. I enjoyed making up items, although I tried to make mine realistic (until the end).

I tried to use a ouija board 2nd to last time to communicate with FFM (who was killed).

ANd then I tried to offer myself as a sacrifice to the greek god of nature to kill off mother nature the last night. i don't know how WTF gets the chaos role in every freaking game. It is hilarious.

Anyway it was a lot of fun.

Can't believe wolves killed me so quickly. They are all getting the crapola roles in the future.

Thanks LIS and DVMD..

And thanks to Abney for being my living partner!

I think I was pretty creative despite trying to be realistic, but I just had a hard time with fitting in investigation/resurrection in particular.

An item created by a wolf killed devyn the second time, I believe it was vetgirl's item.

You and abney should have communicated better, she killed FFM the same night you used the
ouiji board in him, it would have worked had she not killed him...

I didn't kill devyn

Yay I make no ones **** list 😀

I think JJ mentioned it first, without saying exactly who it was. And then I think I killed her :meanie:

Yes, you did, with the rabbit.... 😆

I knew it!! So frustrating! I mentioned it on the thread and said that I found the results suspicious to start debate, but not a single person responded. I actually went back to make sure my post actually posted to the thread. When I saw that it had, I assumed I was being crazy since no one else seemed at all concerned. Then when I died soon after that... I knew.

It was an awesome game, LIS and DVMD!! I looooved the played driven objects. It made it so much fun since it seems in normal games I never ever get an object. I was, like nyanko, trying to make the items super realistic, which made it hard to get very creative. And I thought it was funny that I seemed to be one of the only played that picked a day job not related at all to animals, but was sad it never came in to play in any way (I was a rock star. A bassist, specifically).

I picked being a grain merchant, since I wasn't able to think of anything, and that was what my high school aptitude test said I would be best at.

I used flax to make a linen leisure suit & investigate nyanko via seduction. I investigated BT by getting her addicted to quinoa.

It was a fun game. Thanks mods.

I was a professional hockey player. But I guess that's sort of related to animals.

I was the owner of an outdoor equipment shop. Thought it sounded like a good musher job.

I had plans for working the day jobs into the game more, but it never panned out. Sorry. 🙂

WTF happened the night I died?

You tried to protect yourself, would have worked but vetgirl sabotaged you.

Then FFM tried to give you some oil or grease or something to allow you to escape attack, that would have worked but Abney slipped you some shrooms and prevented that from working...

Then swings hit a golf ball at you...we probably would not have allowed that to kill you by itself, but the wolves also attacked you and killed you that night too... So... basically everything that occurred that night.. happened to you. It was a cluster****.

I made molasses with some of my grain in order to slow down attacks on BT. LIS referred to it as the Great NYE Molasses Defense or something like that.

A classmate of mine just liked a relevant face book page....ISDVMA...the international sled dog veterinary medical association. Wonder what they think of this game?
