I did. They said the list will not move much until April 15. They rather you message them through the message center in our apps and to limit it to only once a week for updates

Hi guys! I messaged Kathy the other day about waitlist movement. She said that they still have 59 seats open, and the next person on the waitlist to be contacted is number 15!
 
Anyone here in the UNL-Iowa State program? I’m number 10 on the waitlist out of 17 and my anxiety is through the roof!
 
Has anybody asked them where they’re at on the list with how many spots left recently?
 
I won't start asking my once a week until at least next week.
 
I emailed yesterday and she said the next person they will ask if someone withdraws or declines will be number 22. I also asked how many spots are available currently due to the lack of response from those originally admitted and she said around 60. So 60 people still have to accept or decline their spot. They still have 5 days to respond though! I’m #49 and hoping for the best.

Oh you’ll get in if that’s how many spots are available. They went through around 130 spots last year on their waitlist
 
In case anyone was wondering, I was updated by Kathy and she said their next alternate is #33!! So much movement in just one day!

I don’t think that’s correct as I’m #30 and still haven’t heard anything.
 
Does Iowa go through in state alternates before OOS?
 
I asked for a waitlist update, but it seems nothing has changed since last time:

"The next alternate to be contacted will be #34, however, we have not gotten through all the mail, email and messages today so I do not know how many seats are still available. Today is the postmarked date for applicants to accept their positions so we cannot remove them from the list until Monday, 4/22, so that it has time to go through the mail. We cannot accept credit cards, yet. I am hoping that is available next year."

I have removed myself from the waitlist (#95). Good luck to everyone this cycle!
 
Those of you still waiting, please be patient! Kathy goes through a lot every day to keep everything running smooth! 🙂 Also, quick side note but if you have any interest in doing anything with horses a great way to get involved is the volunteer foal ICU team. We currently have 5 in the hospital as I'm typing this (It's my last shift of the year 😉) and it's a ton of fun! Plus you get to be super hands on with so many different horses.
 
Update as of 10:58 am EDT:

"Right now the next alternate to be contacted will be alternate #34. I will have 10-12 positions I am inviting today, but am still working on responses from this morning."

Hi friends, I submitted my deposit to my IS school - University of Illinois - so I will be removing myself from the waitlist (#45). Good luck to everyone! Hope you get in 🙂
 
I was offered a seat but declined (#39).
 
I’m 106 so my fingers are crossed!! About halfway there for me

I know 😛 I just wish I knew definitively! I’m finishing up my grad school app just in case but I also scheduled an interview at a research center for a data coordinator position which I wasn’t planning to work through the summer if I got in! Wanted a break before going back into rigorous school hours if ya know what I mean 😉

Definitely choosing ISU over both the other alternatives if given the chance!
 
They’re at #60 on the waitlist. I asked how many seats are still available but she didn’t answer that part of the question.
 
^hi, to give people some good news, I wanted to let y’all know I was offered a spot yesterday (was #43) and will be turning it down - I just haven’t told them yet, so I guess I’m one of the 20 seats that were offered and are still pending. Good luck to y’all!
 
Long time lurker, first time poster. Was offered a spot today and will 100% be accepting! I was originally #55 on the waitlist and am OOS.
 
I had a question for all of you offered a spot. Does your portal say Admitted —> no response.

I was offered a spot on Monday and sent in my deposit today but kinda got freaked out. I also have major anxiety in general so I just like some assurance. 😀

If you sent a deposit today, likely they haven’t gotten a chance to update it. You could always message tomorrow and make sure you’re all good if it would make you feel a bit better, but likely they just haven’t gotten around to changing it.

Yeah my portal says Admitted----No Response too, and I will send in my deposit tomorrow.

It will change as soon as they receive your deposit!
