So...I'm currently torn in trying to decide on a school and I would love some insight from anyone willing to contribute. A little bit about me in case it helps: PA resident, interested in academic medicine, way too early to decide but preliminarily I'm thinking about trying to go for IM and then fellowship in something (hem/onc?), currently live in NYC so I'm partial to an urban feel, pretty social person, have a significant other who is most likely going to move with me wherever I go.

Probably the biggest factor lacking in my ability to make this decision is understanding how people feel about the 3rd and 4th year curriculums at these schools so if anyone has some info about that it would be highly appreciated.

That's basically where my head is at right now. Again, any input is welcome. Thanks!

As a PA resident, Temple will be the cheapest, which would probably be enough to sway me in their direction. I don't know much about UMD, but Temple and Jefferson are ranked pretty similarly, though Jefferson is home to a couple high end residencies. Jefferson is definitely in a nicer part of town. Can't really say much about 3rd and 4th year; I've heard very good things about Temple's clinical training, but I'm sure Jefferson has a good reputation as well. If your goal is internal medicine, probably any of the schools will serve you well.

Are Jeff or UMD pass/fail? I know Temple is not but that could be a nice factor to have for your pre-clinical years

jeff and temple are both H/P/F first two years, UMD has grades which is very unappealing to me but to each his own
