Wishing I had asked what day the committee was meeting this week!

I don't know if this is the cause. But a lot of the admin are moving to the new administration building so that may be another reason the delay in terms of responses and what not.

For any of you who are planning to matriculate, are you coming to accepted students day?

Definitely planning on it. What do you suggest?!

For those of you coming to Accepted Students Day, I HIGHLY recommend bringing someone with you (a friend, spouse, S/O, parent, etc). I loved being able to come back here in the spring and walk around but I came alone and really wished I had someone to be excited with me. Instead I bothered the first years at the time which was helpful, but yeah haha. Other than that, it was exciting! I recommend it if you can afford to come back for the day!

If y'all do in fact show up I would highly suggest (outside of BBQ because they feed you that aceptance day) going to Southwest Blvd, Union Station, The Plaza, Crossroads, 39th Street (Close to KU Med as well as the Jazz District across the freeway), and the best IMO is the City Market that's like...2-3 minutes away from out school. I think KC will have the cable cars installed too by then so you can take that across different areas of downtown!

When is a good time to get housing? My wife and I want to make one more trip out there to find a place to live but would march be too early(if we came for accepted student day)? I've always gotten a place about a month out.

For someone who is moving from way out west and won't have a car, is century towers the best option? Does anyone have any opinions on this?

What a time to be alive/go to KCU! I was looking into living in CT for convenience but River Market area looks super appealing now with the free streetcar situation... the paradox of choice at it again.

Edit: In case anyone was wondering http://kcstreetcar.org/route-map/

I only got a receipt for the $1000 deposit and then an email from KCU saying my seat was held. Nothing from them to confirm my documents were received. I emailed them in pdf format to KCU admissions office. I'm hoping they send out a reminder for the dec. 15 deadline in the next couple of days that gives a status update of where your at. If not I might email them to confirm all is good on my end.

I got a receipt for my deposit and an email that just said "Thank you" about two hours after I sent in the forms.

You heard from somewhere that we will be hearing back on Thursday 11/20?

Sorry, clarification: Will we be hearing back this Thursday for interviews on 11/20? Sorry, it was a struggle this morning 😕

No, I think Misch levus interviews today.

Good luck!

DonMiko, I have been tempted to call and clarify what day this week they actually met/meet and when they estimate the associated decisions would go out, but I've held back hoping I'd start seeing some others in the thread begin posting about receiving decisions.

I think there may have been an 11/13 interview and there were interviews 11/18 and 11/20 the following week. I haven't seen decision posts about those dates either.

That being said, next week is the 4 week mark. At which time we could potentially begin contacting Patti. I was really hoping we'd all hear before that point.

Turns out that they will be meeting to discuss 11/18 interviews this Friday (12/11), so a decision should be made by early next week

Hi everyone,

I emailed Rachel Bartholome, one of the admissions coordinators, and she said that the committee will be meeting on Friday to decide the fate of those who interviewed on 11/18. She said many acceptances will be sent out that same day and the following Monday as well.

I'm nervous.

Eeeeee!

Do you think they'll will go ahead and discuss those that interviewed 12/1 too?

OMG OMG OMG!!! I love this school! Amazing interview day.. Huge plus: committee plans to meet and have decisions sent out before the break. Today was the last interview of 2015, so everyone that interviewed before, expect decisions before the new year. 🙂

Where do I begin? The campus is beautiful. It's a very refreshing setting. It's not too small (some schools are literally just a single building) and it's not too big. It really felt like a tight-knit community and I like that. The facilities are very nice and every need is met. The people were amazing. I can't thank the student ambassadors enough. They were so helpful and honest. Of course, you expect to hear all positive things on interview day, but I could see and feel the energy, joy, and sincerity of the students, faculty, and staff. Having friendly people all around makes for a much better learning environment than the alternate. I really liked the culture of the school and just know that I will fit in very well. Dr. Dubin is simply awesome. Hearing about his principles, ideas, and policies put my mind at ease. His innovative, dynamic, student-centric approach to medical education is assurance that I will have all the means to build a strong foundation for my medical career. I really felt like the school was making every effort (especially not being stingy with their resources) to make sure their students succeed. And I think that's ultimately what matters most. A bit costly, maybe, but it'll totally be worth every last penny. I can't wait to put on that white coat a second time. Here's hoping...

Sounds very similar to I chose the school as well. I think a big part for me that i never really appreciated until now is how close this school is to a major city. As someone coming from a large city I cannot express how much I enjoy the diversity thats in KC. Being able to go out past a typical college town is such a treat (my wife and I enjoy the jazz bars).

That's exactly what I felt during my interview day on Dec 3rd. It's my first choice, and I really hope I could get in. Fingers crossed

Seriously one of the hardest decisions I had to make, but just sent in my deposit for this great school!!
Comparing to what school? Congrats by the way! I'm sending my deposit today as well
