anyone happen to know how many students KCOM interviews each year compared to how many they accept? can't find any numbers on their site.

It varies from year to year. The stat for the class of 2004 was about 90% were offered acceptance. It sounds like they have the attitude of they will accept you unless you show them some reason they wouldn't want you.

It is on their site. Go to the Admissions Link which will take you to a Class Statistics Link, and there all the stats are listed.

Apx. 450 interviews, 158 class size. Keep in mind though that they, as all schools, accept most of the ones they interview, especially early on, and that many turn down the interview or the acceptance. So really, as in many schools, if you get an interview, especially early on, you're probably going to get accepted unless you just interview horribly or come across as a total psycho

I'll agree for the most part. Most interviewers are really nice and just want to chat, i.e. they want to become your friend. There are, however, a few interviewers that are out to give you a hard time. But it is probably like this at most osteopathic schools. Osteopathic schools want to know you as a person, not as an applicant that is interviewing. (You hear all the time of the fake answers interviewees give the interviewers. I think most osteopathic schools try to avoid these fake answers with their interviews).

I absolutely agree here. They just want to test your personality. They dont want uptight, anti-social people. They want really well rounded interactice people. My interviews were all just chats about anything and everything. I was really impressed with their entire interview day. Just go in and show that you have a personality.

In the U.S. News & World report Best Grad Schools, it listed KCOM as accepting 18% of their applicants. Oh, and on another note, they are #10 in the nation with rural medicine.

I agree with the other posts as well. If you apply early, you have a better chance of getting in. Later applicants (after mid jan.) are often viewed as waiting for the decisions of the allopaths before they attempt to D.O. it right.
