I spoke with the Dean's office and they will not tell you where you are on the waitlist, it's their policy unfortunately. April 15th is the cutoff date for people who were admitted to say they accept or not so it will be a long wait.

Got that big envelope today, too. 🙂 It's been almost six years coming, and let me tell you, the wait was worth it.

Allie, I'm particularly happy for you. This was only my second application season (year), and it felt like one hundred.

In addition to my 10 rejection letters from everywhere else, I'm still waiting to hear from Louisiana and Wisconsin.

Ultimately I can't help but feel so utterly grateful to KSU for inviting me out to interview. They gave me the chance that no one else considered. That means a great deal to me.

It's amazing, too, how, when you're waiting for responses, you have one set of issues and anxiety, and now that I have just one acceptance, I'm already spinning about where to stay.. when to move.. how to move... etc. etc.!

That's what life is though, I suppose. You exchange one set of challenges for another. 😳

Thank you again to everyone for the warm fuzzy wishes 😀 It looks like they worked in my case!!!

HAHAHA, I totally second that Cookie! I thought I would be so relaxed after finding out I got in and I feel just as stressed as before, only about different things like getting my house ready to put on the market, getting a house out there, moving my cats, etc. etc. It's all so crazy! At least the stress this time is followed with good feelings, not horrible anxious ones 🙂

CONGRATS to all out-of-staters who got accepted. For those that are waitlisted, your chances are pretty good, they send out acceptances and then as people decline the offer they go to the out of state waitlist and I believe they call you instead of sending out a letter. You'll love Manhattan and KSU! Start looking for places to live around May-June, affordable housing and apartments go fast, there's barely anything left in Mid July-August. Also if you are looking to buy, there are more affordable houses on the outskirts of Manhattan. Again CONGRATS to everyone, I look forward to having you all as classmates!!

If anyone wants more information about Manhattan or KSU just PM me!

PS: do you think we'll be able to figure each other out? Just a thought
 
Just wondering if any out-of-staters who did NOT get an interview have heard anything from Kansas. Obviously, I'm thinking that no interview = not getting in, especially considering how many they interviewed and have already accepted/put on a wait list. I'd just like to get my letter so I can put these nerves to rest once and for all. I know they just sent out a batch of letters but it seems like they are all to people who've been interviewed. So, has anyone in this situation heard anything? Would it be rude of me to call in regard to my application status?

I'm in the same boat, I've gotten sick of waiting and I've decided I'm going to just call just so I know already. I hear the admissions dept is really nice there so I'm sure they'd be glad to help you out. Good Luck! Anyone else know how they are in the admissions office?

When I interviewed there, one of the things I noticed was that everyone I met was extremely friendly.
 
I am out-of-state and have heard nothing, and I've been told that my app. is on hold for a potential interview, and I may not hear anything until April 15. Joy. This is what the dean told me when I called last month.

GOOD LUCK to all those waitlisted--but please don't give up if it doesn't happen this year. I'm proof that your dreams CAN come true, no matter how long you have to wait. Here's hoping...! And thanks to all offering info on Manhattan and that sort of thing--I can't wait to love Kansas as my second home. Cheers! 🙂
 
Ugg you guys i haven't gotten anything yet!!! It's not like i live in the sticks or anything!!! no acceptance, waitlist, or rejection yet...I did have my interview on the 7th too, come on KSU...
i have been rushing home everyday like some sort of madman to check the mail...
 
I'm in the same boat, no love letters at all.....but NO letters too. Urgh

Hey RTHA06, I'd call them if I were you. Maybe your mailman lost your letter or something. I live in So Cal and I got my letter on Friday so if they were all sent the same day yours should have arrived by now I think. Just a suggestion. :luck:

If anyone else is potentially leaving a significant other behind to attend KSU, and would like to consider sharing an apartment, house, etc., PM me?

It's not etched in stone yet that he's not coming with me, but unfortunately (if that word applies here) he's got a great job here, and we own a home together. The house selling market stinks right now, too.

We've been together for over 15 years, so this is a big thing for me.

When I get a chance, I recall seeing a thread in the non-trad forum about long-distance relationships, etc. So I'll look at that later.

i haven't gotten a letter either way and i didn't have an interview, so i guess no news is good news for me..
RTHA06 did you call them today? i was thinking that i might, but didn't want to bombard them with the same question if others have called
 
I also haven't received anything from KSU. 🙁

I'm getting the impression that they've pretty much interviewed everyone that they wanted to..so I've given up hope. I may call today just to check, but I won't keep my fingers crossed. It would be pretty sad if they sent me a interview invitation and I never received it.
 
Hi Hiatus, I just called (10:50 PST) and she took my info and said she would call me back...more waiting.
Well, maybe i can get some info.
I think those of you who are still waiting to hear about an interview are not out of luck yet, but i will ask if they do indeed call me back.

So i called and they called back to tell me they sent my stuff when they sent everyone else's and they also verified my address. But, i still haven't received anything, so, I have to call them Monday to have them re-send. I hope it shows up tomorrow, but i won't even be home all day to check~~~~
I also asked them while i had their attention, if another batch of interviews will take place. They said, yes and that it happened last year, so there is still a chance for you guys who are still waiting. She said that there is no planned time as of yet, but that they should be doing so in March/April/May (yeah, i know-really specific). But, there is still a large chance you will be called, so hang in there. Good luck to everyone still waiting...

Seriously, we could still be interviewed?? I've already accepted that I wasn't going to get in because I hadn't been invited to the interviews that have taken place. Ah geez, now something else to stress over 🙂

It seems that there will be a round 2 for their application process, so do not give up hope yet!!!
 
Dont give up hope.....I"m definatley still waiting on KSU. Lots of schools take their time, they some sort of system that allows them to keep people on hold so they can get as many good applicants as possible. Its not over till you get that rejection letter, therefore no news right now can usually be good news (because they think you are at least somebody that would fit in to their school).

Congrats to those who have been accepted! Keep hoping to those who are still waiting on some (like I am). Oh yeah and when you do get interviewed, I think that wait is even more torturous. (I'm waiting for those letters as well.)

I know this thread is super old, but I was accepted off of the waitlist! 🙂 I found out by phone a little while (maybe a couple of weeks) ago.
 
I just withdrew from my spot at KSU, so hopefully someone here will get it! Good luck!
