Does anyone know when scored are typically released. I am planning on taking my exam on March 6th, and hope to get it back by mid-April. My main concern is, what if I fail the test? Can I take it again in May? is there a probation period?

You should get your results within 4 weeks: looking at first or perhaps second wednesday in April. I think you have to wait 60 days before re-sitting the exam: someone double check this.

This used to be a rule but I'm ALMOST positive that they changed it last year to where you no longer have to wait.

Can you tell me where I can find this information? I'm paranoid I might not pass, then not able to start residency b/c of the 60 days rule.

Also, I'm taking my exam tomorrow. Does anyone know where I can find out when the score would be release. thanks

The USMLE website says up to 6 weeks for return date (though most people say 3 weeks - same as for step 1...I can't speak from experience since I only took it last week and am still anxiously awaiting my score in case I have to take that beast again...) It was also on there that I saw the changes about the wait. I can't remember if it said it specifically for one of the other boards, but I'm also positive there's no longer a wait. Check the USMLE website and your dean should know also.
