How are you guys feeling with the school not being accredited just yet?

I think I read somewhere that they won't be officially accredited until their first class graduates so I wouldn't be too concerned about that!

They got their reasonable assurance so they're on track...I don't mind that so much..honestly I applied there because being new I figured the likelihood of getting in would be higher..I'm from LI and don't really desire to live there again but the dream is the dream!

I'm from Staten Island originally!!!

I got an interview invite via email! I’m planning to email them to clarify this but figured I’d ask on here in case anyone else already has: are the interview time slots listed in the eastern time zone?

Yes! I got an interview invite. I'm excited since this school is so new and so close to home. Time to PRACTICE!

As Cassafras mentioned, they have their letter of reasonable assurance, so anyone in the first few classes do not have to worry about the accreditation situation in regards to getting your license and becoming a practicing vet.

Say the absolute worst case scenario happens and they dont get full accreditation after the graduation of their first class. They then cannot accept a new class and have a set number of years to fix their deficiencies. If they do not fix the deficiencies, then they lose all levels of accreditation, and must close. Any students in the program that successfully graduate *and* pass the NAVLE will be granted full licensure, regardless of the accreditation issue. This is protection provided by the AVMA COE so that students arent screwed out of 4 years worth of time and money (*a lot* in the case of LIU) in the event the school fails.

I'm kind of assuming that I'll be getting a rejection considering interview invites went out today? Kind of odd to send invites before rejections or not at the same time.
yea idk if this school sends out rounds of interviews or what ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ wish they’d give us more info!

I was beginning to wonder the same thing because I didn’t receive an email today..

the email that was sent out was for Jan 5-9 and you picked your time slot...I don't know if there's another round though, sorry!

so frustrating... i'm assuming i got denied since no email today. i understand they are a new school, but not sure how hard it would be to send out a generic timeline to all applicants instead of leaving them guessing? ??

I emailed them and they said more notifications should be going out shortly. I am really not sure what that means. I feel like they have been providing minimal information.

It just all seems confusing as every other school has given provided me with a rejection prior to or at the same time as interview offers.

There will definitely be more interview invites going on! The email today said there are seven slots per day, and there were only five days to choose from. They will def being doing more than 35 interviews so I wouldn’t stress yet!
I suspect they're interviewing several people in each slot--since you only spend 10 minutes with each situation and there are 5 scenarios.

I got the interview invite too! Signed up for January 8th at 3:30pm. OOS from Texas.

This will be my first MMI interview experience. Anyone have any suggestions on how to best prepare for this style of interview format?

if you google search MMI questions...then use a timer. If you can get someone to practice with you even better. Congrats!
