Hi SDN,

First, sorry if this is in the wrong place...

Thank you for everything you all have contributed to my success so far! I have some very serious questions about choosing a medical school.

I hope everyone who is applying this cycle is doing well and I wish you all the best of luck in the coming months!

I have received several interview invites and one acceptance already. My interviews are at very good programs, including one MD/PhD. The reason I am asking for advice because I have was offered a full tuition scholarship at the school I already was accepted to for the MD program. I haven't replied because I am not sure how this game is played. Can anyone give any advice on what to do from here?

I am willing to go to this school because it is very good but I am not so sure if I should just write back and say it is a wrap for me. I could see myself getting more interviews and I don't know if I should cancel my plans to interview. Thankfully I haven't bought tickets yet.

Any help is much appreciated.

Wow I just lost the game.

In all seriousness, what exactly is your question? Are you trying to get more money from other schools open hopefully being accepted? If so, wait a few months until all the scholarship packages come out, and then tell the schools you're interested in that you're receiving X amount of money (full-tuition) from XYZ SOM but you'd rather go to their programs for a similar/identical pricetag. From my friends who have done this, this typically works if either A) the school reallllly wants you or more likely due to B) you got a full ride at a better program, but you'd rather attend the "less prestigious" one.
