Mizzou c/o 2017 Applicants!

Hey guys just got back from my interview! I decided to attend the luncheon/Q&A session first and I got to talk to some of the students while eating lunch. They are all so friendly, honest, and willing to answer all of my questions. I think they answered so much that I decided not to ask anything during the Q&A session.

The interview was very laid back. As previously said, it was filled with a lot of laughs. I blanked out on one question but they told me it was fine (it probably wasn't but they weren't being jerks about it). They were very friendly and it is information strictly from your application, nothing extra.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents. Good luck everyone! ~

Thanks for the feedback! My interview is tomorrow at 10:45. Getting excited!! (and maybe a little nervous 🙄 ) My fiance and I drove around campus tonight and loved it! Can't wait to see it in the daytime. Good luck to everyone interviewing tomorrow and Sunday!

I apparently have a lot of Missouri connections. My next door neighbors went to Mizzou, and the husband's dad lives close to campus. He offered us dinner, and they said they could suggest some things to do around Columbia. Too bad I'm only there for a few hours!

Leaving shortly for the airport to fly in, getting excited!

We made it to Columbia!! 😀 getting settled in at the hotel and then gonna ride over to the school and figure out where I need to go tomorrow. Super excited!!! It snowed the entire way here.. First snowfall I've seen since last year 😀

I'm here too! Freaking out a little bit, but pretty excited. 😀

Ahhh so pumped! I got a private tour of the Vet school today!! My jitters aren't half as bad as they were initially!

:luck: :luck: :luck: Best of luck to everyone tomorrow!!! :luck: :luck: :luck:

Today's the day!!

I'll be wearing a dark grey suit with a greenish bluish shirt, so if you see me, say Hello!! I'm very excited to meet some SDN people!

:luck: :luck: :luck: Good luck everyone!! :luck: :luck: :luck:

Good luck! I wish I could be there to meet even more of you! Kathy and Doug were talking to some of us ambassadors last night and we all agreed that we had met a lot of really great and friendly people over these past few days. Hopefully everyone gets transcripts in quickly so you can find out sooner than later!

I stopped by there last night! We're you in the office when two girls ( nordicat and myself ) came by?

I was, but I was across the room from the girls that were saying hi to Nordicat. I didn't realize it was her until after you guys had walked out and they were explaining to Kathy that she is one of their classmates.

And now the waiting game begins!!! Very nice to meet a couple SDNers today!!

Just joined on here. I had my interview Sunday. I am glad it's over, but I am not looking forward to this waiting game!

Welcome to the Best thread on SDN  my interview was Sunday as well! Morning or afternoon?

Mine was 10:45. I took a tour at 9:00 too. I got everything out of the way first thing

Possible. I had a black suit and red tie. I was with my mom and dad and little brother lol

Probably not my tour, then, but I think you were actually in the interview room when I was waiting since my interview was 11:15.

Doug was hilarious on the tour, though it did take him awhile to actually make it through the entire tour (I was in the massive tour group Doug took on Saturday, if anyone else was a part of that). Everyone was extremely nice and it really made a great impression on me though that niceness is a double edged sword because now I have no idea how I actually did on the interview...!

I'm sure you did great!! :luck: :luck:

Doug is infamous for taking a long time to finish up tours, but you probably heard a lot more stories than any of my groups! I hope everyone gets their stuff in soon! I'm excited for you guys to hear back!

I knooooow!! The wait is killing me! Hopefully everyone was really speedy in getting their information in after their interviews 🙂

I wasn't in that group, but I think I saw you guys walking around.

Same here, everybody was really friendly. At one point in the interview I forgot the word for something, and I told them that I was just really nervous, and they just laughed about it and told me that they were there once too. 😳

I know I should have answered a few of the questions differently though because when I'm nervous I tend to just blurt things out without thinking, and that definitely happened.

I hope we know soon!

Same...at the beginning I started ramble-apologizing because I misheard something. I really hope they don't hold it against me too much, I didn't get the laughing that other people seemed to. It was mostly just intimidating.

Ahh I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way! One person who interviewed me was very intimidating. There were two sets of interviewers so maybe one group seemed to be more friendly? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it went better than I think it did.

Do you remember who interviewed you?

One of the professors who interviewed me scared the crap out of me...and turns out he is one of the nicest, weirdest funniest profs we have!

My interview wasn't full of laughing, more on the serious side, but still pretty laid back. I expected it to be more intimidating!

Finallllly the fax machine in my university's records office wasn't busy and it accepted my transcript request form.. Called to confirm they received it and they said yes.. Said it would take 12-48 hr to get them in the mail.... So they should be at Mizzou by Monday! ( I wish it was sooner though, I'm soooo anxious to hear some news!!!!)

I also interviewed on Sunday, and I thought mine went extremely well! After completely bombing an interview a few weeks before, I went in a lot more relaxed because I had already seen what the worst situation was, and Mizzou couldn't be any worse than that one. I was in the room for quite a long time and had them laughing nearly the whole time.

I wasn't impressed with the facilities, however. Everything seemed well-used and outdated, but what they lack in facilities they made up for in personality and dedication to students.

Best of luck to all other candidates!

That was my feeling for the most part. But then I compare it to Ohio who needs a renovation even worse, but right now the hospital is so poorly laid out and they have such a high case load that I'm sure it's a real struggle doing clinics in there.
And really, if the facilities aren't shiny shiny brand new, but they still have all the fancy machines and enough space, I'm pretty happy.

This is my thought exactly.. No the facilities aren't brand new, but they have all the equipment you need to do everything you can dream of! I'm still in love with Mizzou lol 😍 ..... Patiently waiting......🙄

So has anyone broken down and emailed Kathy about when they might get around to it? I know she said "Whenever people get in their documents" but come on! Like... March? Next week? I got wait listed really low on UC Davis, so I'm kind of banking on Mizzou or I'm screwed.

She said as early as 10 days but no later than Feb first I think.

Sent from my HTC Glacier using SDN Mobile

My transcripts just got sent today. I am no longer one of the people with documents holding stuff up.

Also, @Hobbes, Kathy said on my interview day that they'll definitely be making decisions Feb. 1. So we shouldn't have to wait all the way until March. 😉

Good morning everyone!! We are another day closer to decisions!!

I hope everyone has gotten their transcripts and GRE/MCAT scores sent this week!!

😀 :xf: :luck: :luck: 😍 :luck: :luck: :xf: 😀

I thought she said on my interview day that we should have letters in hand no later than February 1.. so we may find out this month.

Transcripts and scores are due Feb. 1st though. If they are waiting on even one person to submit that stuff, they won't send out letters until they receive it or they pass the Feb. 1st deadline. You all can hear back before the 1st if everyone gets their scores to Kathy sooner than that.

I don't want to be that person, Buuuuuuut........

PLEASE get your stuff sent in everybody!! :meanie:

My transcripts finally got sent...yesterday so it's not my fault anymore!

I emailed Kathy to make sure my file was complete and she told me there are still about 80 transcripts that they're waiting for. Hopefully most of them are already in the mail!

Sweet! Yaaay! I know mine is in the mail ! Hopefully the rest are on the way :xf:

Thinking about emailing Kathy today to check if my transcript arrived... Getting anxious!

I called today to make sure all of my things were in. They were, but Kathy said they're still waiting on about 75 transcripts! Ugh!

Mine's probably one of them...the overnighted one just got to LSU today. It's in the mail, though! I'll probably call at the end of the week to check in.

My file is complete! But they don't even start looking at us in-staters until they get y'all figured out.
