Hope to see many of you! 😀

Bruh!!! Don't do this to me. I am already logging in and refreshing your "Google Meet", hoping to see some update or change! My admission cycle is done but refreshing websites every 30 minutes has become a force of habit!!!!

Boston University just up'd my scholarship to 30% now. which is about $25,000. From 25% -> 30%
I am trying real hard to not think about expenses but dang is Yale so expensive compared to everything else.
Did you email them/do something, or did they just randomly up your scholarship?

I heard from BU too! Went from 30% to 35% in scholarship. I emailed financial aid earlier this week with a request to be considered for more aid.
Wow so awesome! How’d you format the email, did you just request it or need to send anything with it?

I expressed how grateful I was for the initial offer, how much I admired the program, and how unfortunately like many other qualified applicants, my finances are a limiting factor and if I could somehow be reconsidered for additional aid. Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to help!

First make sure, you will have visa support as an international student to stay in the US with an MPH degree since all the programs you named are NOT STEM-supported program. So, no stay in US after one year of the degree if no other visa support available. Health systems/ health-related tech companies/startups rarely sponsor H1B for international student with an MPH degree but NGO and non-profit org. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the insight!! Yeah I am aware- wish they are STEM eligible though! I'm actually okay with that since I'm considering taking a job outside of the US.

BU increased from 25% to 30%! For those asking, I wrote:
  • I'm thanking for the opportunity and the funding awarded.
  • Here is why I think I'm a good fit for the program.
  • Here is why I think I, and my career goals, embody the school's mission.
  • Funding is a huge decision factor.
  • Thanks again.
Also for those asking:

  • Jen Farkas (finaid director) at Yale says they do not increase awards. I did have a conversation with her about other funding opps and looks like there are a lot of on campus jobs that can probably float your living expenses.
  • GW will consider you, I sent what I wrote above. They replied to send other offers. I sent. They said they'd get back to me around the 3/15.

Did anyone not get a scholarship from Yale after the 10 day window? I believe I've seen scholarships ranging from $20,000 - $60,000, but I haven't seen more or less than that so far
Bringing this up again since it was posted on the weekend and not too many people were on.

Is anyone on here still waiting for the majority of their decisions? I applied to 4 schools and only heard back from 1 and now I’m getting super worried because commitment day is less than a month away and I am worried about having such little time to decide. Especially since I applied to local and out of state schools and it’s a big decision to make. I almost wish they would move commitment day or something since almost all schools have had delays in releasing admissions this year....

You should definitely follow-up with the ones you are waiting for. I agree, it is kinda getting late.

From the emory admitted students welcome webinar: "The Office of Financial Aid has started to award and post packages in OPUS. In addition, we continue to offer Institutional Awards on a Rolling basis. At this time all of our merit scholarships have been awarded. If you completed the FAFSA you will have a package before the April 15 enrollment confirmation deadline."

Hi everyone! I am 99% sure I will be joining UW for their Community-Oriented Public Health Practise cohort. Bit of a niche and small program. Curious as to if anyone has been accepted or has decided to enroll? Would love to connect ahead of the admitted students week 🙂

Also VERY excited for our April 15th Google Meet. I've already blocked off time on my work calendar lol

PLEASE TURN ON YOUR CAMERAS if you can! It would be so great to finally put a face to a...username! 😛

Are classes at JHU online or in-person this fall and onward? I looked through the website but didn't really find a definitive answer
On one of the webinars they mentioned that the final decision would be tentatively announced from the university the first week of April.
