Nope, still waiting, and I applied in October!I agree, I think it has something to do with that. Have you heard from CLS yet?

DM'd you!I did last year, and it was a success. PM me for additional details.
What do you mean by negate the scholarship? As in, if you get the full time job then you can not get the scholarship? Or as in you want both a rise in scholarship and a job?Appealed my scholarship at BU and asked for a rise. Still going to try to find a full time job (which I know will negate it the scholarship) but that’s too good of a deal to pass up.
I went to their financial aid webinar yesterday and someone had asked the same question but they just said it will be before April 15th. :/YES 🙂 do you know when we are supposed to get it?
Hi! So I got into NYU, BU, and Emory as well but I didn't apply to Yale so I can't compare there, but I got awards similar to yours to those schools. I will say that Brown gave me the least amount of any school I've heard back to so far, 10% tuition reduction which is almost $5k in merit-based aid per year. I have tried appealing but have been told I can only do so if I have a change in my FAFSA and even then it probably only be a 5% increase. It might be different for you though since you're applying for a dual degree but i'm not sure if it would beat the $60k from Yale.Hi all, anyone who got into Brown - what's been the highest financial aid/merit aid that y'all have received?
I applied for the dual degree (2/15) but have been told I might need to wait until sometime in April to get a response and with a MPA/MPH dual degree start in early June, I just am really unsure I have enough time to realistically move myself/transition within 2 months. I'm only waiting because it's a dual degree and on the off chance I get a better financial deal than I got from Yale but if it just doesn't seem possible, I may need to really reconsider Brown. Thanks!
ugh I want to be able to make a decision soon and also see if I can get more aid by showing how other top schools have given me a good amount of aid they're slowly killing me hahaNope. I’ve been waiting for weeks now since completing my federal aid application in their SIS portal
Thank you so much! This is incredibly helpful 🙂 I do agree nothing is likely to come close to Yale's offer, but it's pretty hard to also outright say no to a dual degree program as well.Hi! so disappointing 🙁i posted this yesterday after asking about an appeal:
if anyone is looking to appeal their financial aid package at brown, this is the email i received after checking if it was possible:
" If you want to appeal your aid decision, you can send an appeal with any new information not reflected in your FAFSA data to the Graduate Financial Aid Office at [email protected]. The MPH Program only has small scholarships for higher need students so the scholarship would not increase by more than 5% even if the appeal changes your aid need designation."
I am almost sure I'm going to accept Harvard's offer. The price is really the biggest downside for me but I can make it work and hopefully it will pay off. Education is always a good investment as they say and I'm hoping the name will help in that regard... The curriculum really excites me and it's simply the best school I got in to. Looking forward to the experience 🙂I'm debating between HSPH and Hopkins! Both for mph 65/full-time. I'm heavily leaning towards Hopkins because got a scholarship that covers 1/3 of tuition (and nothing from Harvard). Harvard was my dream before this application cycle but honestly I like Hopkins better in it's flexibility in curriculum and larger cohort experience - but it's hard to say no to Harvard!
Hey! What I’ve heard so far: it’s fairly common for MPH students to apply to the MBA dual program during their first year (and vice versa with MBA students into the MPH program!) and it adds one year onto your degree. If you want to change your concentration, specificqllt over to HCM, you have to apply to the department (new personal statement!) and you won’t lose admission to the original program you were admitted to. Once you start the year, you cannot switch to HCM because of its rigidity compared to other programs!Oh very cool! Let me know too, please. I wonder how it will affect our scholarship/financial aid from YSPH though.
Hi! I just replied on page 166 about what I’ve heard 🙂That’d be amazing!! Thank you
If you have questions about the program, PM me!Officially committed to JHU Full-Time MPH and I am ELATED! I never thought of myself as an even moderately competitive applicant, and I still can't believe I'll be attending my dream program. It's been so great to see everyone's accomplishments and the support on this thread. Excited to meet some of you as classmates and colleagues! <3
It's an estimated cost. The office of financial aid likes to make assumptions so that students can get a general sense of what it costs to attend considering everything in addition to tuition. Of course, you will not have to pay for room and board if you're going to learn remotely.Does anyone know why the JHU budget includes room and board on my SIS page? I wouldn't be expected to pay that if I'm not living in a dorm room, right?
I haven’t received anything. I filled out their aid form maybe 2-3 weeks ago? Haven’t heard anything but will likely decline my seat soon.Curious if anyone ever recieved any scholarships from Tulane?
Lol I don’t understand why $33k is the cap for unsub loans. But you can apply for grad PLUS loans through the federal government and borrow the remaining amount up to the cost of attendance (which includes loans and housing etc - the numbers posted on the school’s website). Right now unsub loans have around a 4-5% interest rate. I forget the exact number. And the PLUS loan is somewhere between 5-6%can someone please explain to me how a program can cost $38k a year but the max loan offered is $33k? am i just dumb orrrrr lmao
Congratulations! When did you apply? If anyone applied to Oregon programs... I was accepted to Oregon State University (OSU) on 1/26. I was accepted into OHSU-PSU on 1/31. Both MPH programs in Health Management & Policy!

Hi, I got a 35% Public Health Impact Award from BrownHi all, anyone who got into Brown - what's been the highest financial aid/merit aid that y'all have received?

I applied November 25th! Did you apply as well?Congratulations! When did you apply?
I applied for the Pop Mental Health concentration so unsure of the criteria for the general program. A good GPA but lots of projects under my belt during undergrad.does anyone know anything about colorado? ive seen people on here w/ really good GPA's get rejected so im confused about their criteria
35% off (20% contingent on grades, 15% fafsa).Hi all, anyone who got into Brown - what's been the highest financial aid/merit aid that y'all have received?

Yes! I applied to Oregon State. My application was a bit late but I wanted to get an idea of how long it was taking them. Thank you!I applied November 25th! Did you apply as well?
I also went there for my undergraduate for public health. I hope you love the program. !congrats!! I went there for my undergrad I hope you love the MPH program 🙂
I’m not sure about the admissions criteria but Colorado is mysterious. I was accepted over a month ago but I haven’t heard anything since then, no financial aid info, prospective students events, information about the program, nada. I know it’s a smaller/newer program but it’s bizarre to not send out anything at all...does anyone know anything about colorado? ive seen people on here w/ really good GPA's get rejected so im confused about their criteria
Which department?rejected by UCLA <3
Brother, I feel you. But if I could offer some advice, I would just say to make a decision that benefits you. No decision is almost always worse than a decision, so even if you aren’t sure, just research and be confident in what you want- it’s not everyday we can say we got in graduate school, and even in a messed up, racist, sexist, capitalist society, we can still do good. It’s okay to have reservations, but just remember that you are capable and competent. I’m here if you need to talk.I'm so annoyed by this never ending process.
I don't like how I've made so much effort and achieved quite a lot yet I still feel this way, like vulnerable af bc it's so uncertain what my future will bring going to this one school i pick (and based on what really?). And it's so scary with the opportunity cost of giving up on all the schools i won't be choosing.
I mean it sounds like really greedy and ungrateful but dammmmmn it keeps me awake at 3am.
I feel that! I applied Oct 1. and was waitlisted yesterday, slightly devastated.Nope, still waiting, and I applied in October!
