NC State 2024-2025 (c/o 2029 hopefuls)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I wonder how many people were waitlisted??
I was on the IS waitlist last year and it was 26 people.

IS rejected this year, completely heartbreaking. Congrats to those that got accepted!

IS rejection. Thanks state for hyping me up for nothing. Congrats to everyone accepted! Guess the Wolfpack isn’t made for everyone. Honestly glad I’m not going to be in Raleigh for the next four years hahaha

😕 Not good for our Yelp rating...

@NCSU CVM do you send out multiple waves of interview invites for DVM/PhD applicants or are we waiting for decisions now?

@NCSU CVM Are there multiple days that email decisions are going out? I am an IS applicant as well as another girl I know and we both didn't receive any notifications... Thanks! (have checked spam and everything)

Please send an email to <dvmadmissions@ncsu.edu> with your name and we will check to make sure a decision has been emailed to you.

Is acceptance 😁
What email do we send updated transcripts to by tomorrow?
This is a reminder that Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 transcripts (if applicable and not previously submitted) must be received by the Student Development Office no later than February 1, 2025.

You can send official transcripts to the NC State CVM in one of two ways.

Electronically
If this is an option for the issuing institution, please order your official transcript and have it sent electronically to: dvmadmissions@ncsu.edu. We will retrieve a certified PDF of your transcript when it is sent to us.

Mail
NC State College of Veterinary Medicine
Student Development Office
1060 William Moore Drive, Box 8401
Raleigh, NC 27607

As a reminder, Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 transcripts are due February 1, 2025.

The college will send an email verifying receipt of the transcript once it is processed.

Due to the volume of applicants, please email the Student Development Office at dvmadmissions@ncsu.edu if you have any questions.

IS ACCEPTANCE 🥳 I've applied multiple times over the years and I am so grateful to have this opportunity now! For those of you taking gap years, embrace the relationships you make and take advantage of any learning opportunity that arises. My time as a vet assistant is a time that I'll never forget! ❤️

Congratulations to the future members of the Wolfpack!!! I graduated from State in May, so my first year curriculum was a little different, but I'm still happy to answer questions if anyone has any 🙂

does anyone know what the dress code is for the Welcome Dinner?
I do not know, and couldn't find anything on their facebook page when I searched for pictures lol so I will probably just wear nice jeans and a blouse!

Guests are welcome to wear casual attire for the day part of the event.

However, we ask for business casual/business dress for dinner.

Time is built in the schedule for a break before dinner allowing you to change.

Anyone else OOS waitlist not sure whether or not they will try and attend the events? It would be a large amount of travel for me and I’m hesitant just because it would be so disappointing to attend then not get accepted. It’s just hard not knowing where we stand out of 50 other waitlist spots <3

I am in the same boat and cannot justify spending that much on travel for a seat that is not guaranteed. Everyone’s situation is different but for me it’s not realistic.

REAL-LIFE ROLE MODELS. We were overjoyed to join @marblesraleigh in our joint Ready, Set, Vet! exhibit as a part of the museum’s ongoing #BlackHeritageMonth celebration. Members of #NCStateVetMed’s chapter of @ncsu_snabv - Isla, Karisma, Anya and Kayla - volunteered their time with aspiring young veterinarians and their parents. Little ones got to test out veterinary equipment, try on white coats and conduct pretend exams and surgeries with our veterinary students.

Missed this opportunity to learn more about veterinary medicine? Another opportunity is coming up to immerse your aspiring veterinarian in the world of animal medicine. On Saturday March 8, our annual Open House returns! This event is free and welcomes friends of all ages to explore the college and veterinary hospital. Learn more at the link in @ncstatevetmed’s bio.

Illinois released decisions?

Closing in on a month away - All AAVMC institutions agree to an April 15 decision deadline for admitted applicants.

Does anyone know the % of OOS students that are successful with getting residency for years 2-4 if they move by July of year one? My daughter is trying to decide between NCSU, UF and tOSU.... and I'm hearing conflicting things about the ease with which residency is obtained. I know they have an attorney help students through it- but does it really happen as easily as we have been told? I'd love any information, not sure if she emails the school, if this is a stat they actually track. Thank you!!!

The NC State conversion rate is over 92%. It's up to the student to complete the steps and they do have guidance available to them through Student Legal Services. Students should familiarize themselves with North Carolina's Residency Determination Service.

This is SO helpful for us, thank you! We are so thankful your program provides assistance with the process!

Hi, have any OOS students declined their seat to NCSU? I am hoping to know if I stand a chance of making it off the waitlist. It is so tough knowing I am going to have to make a deposit somewhere else but still holding onto a chance of getting accepted to NCSU as 1 out of 50 waitlist contestants. Hoping to hear good things in April

unfortunately they also over accept their OOS pool, so around 40 people were accepted for OOS with only 25 seats available

Oh wow I had no idea... where did you find this info? I haven't been able to find much about the waitlist.

spoke to what i believe was the head of admissions at the admit and waitlist dinner ):
i felt that i was being told i should go to where i’ve gotten accepted at this point.
kinda sad cause this has been my dream school and the dinner truly made me feel stupid for going.

wow I am so sorry. I also had no idea. I did not go to the dinner for financial reasons and I knew I was 1 out of 51 people so the chances were slim, but goodness that is so difficult to hear 😭 really makes my chances feel even more slim

Would any accepted students / waitlisted students be willing to let me read their personal statement ? I’m struggling with how to write mine and I feel like I need some examples lol, how do y’all feel like you stood out in your app?
